please explain the copper isothermal option again... how does this dramatically decrease the temps?...i would assume the coolant still flows through the throttle body, this gasket is used to keep some of that heat away from transferring into the plenum, right? if so, the valve would be a better option, only one would have to monitor its position accordingly for weather...
also, the 1/2 plenum spacer...does this work with the stock strut tower bar with an icreased strut tower bar spacer? (or are the studs that fit into the stock strut tower brace not tall enough?)...
I think i'm in for #7...when will the GB begin?

actually, if you read his description again, the copper bit keeps the tb WARM in regions of cold ambient temps so it doesn't freeze shut in freezing weather.
Also, the 1/2" spacer doesn't accommodate the stock strut bar. the 5/16" does.

if you want to keep your stock strut bar and don't live where it freezes, get the 5/16 spacer. i think it now comes with the new isothermal gasket that goes btwn the lower plenum and intake manifold. if you want more air intake and are willing to lose the stock sb, get the 1/2. if you live where it freezes, get the copper thingy throttle body upgrade.

Get the 5/16" Iso Thermal plenum spacer (no copper). If you drive to Montana in the winter get the Copper TB heater, otherwise it just doesn't get cold often enough in Ca to mandate the Copper.

The Copper TB heater is neat little device though. That thing really works!
When you put it on, the TB is clearly hot and the Plenum is clearly cool...

 

i'm in!! thermal iso plus the copper thingy. just waiting for the g.b.
supercharged & in NC (sometimes cold)

I'm sure the drag, road, and autocross 350Z/G35 racers will appreciate these modifications. (lowering temperatures (prevents heat soak from happening as quick as it did before) and adding power (by increasing airflow))

 

So bang for the buck should i be looking at this over the cast crawford plenum???

so u plug the coolant line completely, and the copper acts to tranfer heat to the throttle body at all times...hmmm..has the throttle body temp been measured with the copper vs the coolant temp?
(i know it wouldnt take much heat to prevent it from freezing-any other implication for the coolant line through there?)

 

I think I'll be down for the group buy. I'm still trying to decide on what size spacer to go with, depending on if the strut bar will fit on the 1/2".

If the stock strut doesn't fit with this spacer, I'm guessing I can go with the Crawford or APS strut bars?

Although it is not required, it can be done if the hood spacers are used. Most people won't like the look of hood spacers so they are left as an optional item for installation. The hood spacers are a purely functional item that is ideal for tracking or while at the strip. In addition to letting you put on the stock strut bar, the hood spacers blast very large volumes of cool air through the entire engine compartment. When racing, anything that brings down engine compartment temperatures is a good thing.

G35's don't have a strut bar, but I use the hood spacers when tracking.
