Question How many of you are really driving your Z hard??

I've had my Z since June 03 (16,000 mi), and I've never really driven it hard. My question is how many people are driving hard, and how's your Z holding up under the circumstances. Inquiring minds want to know.

i drive HARD, ALL the time. i approach redline on a very regular basis and i love it. I just do not drive it too much.

seems the power in the lower rpm range is a bit lower than i would like but after 3500 it grabs and goes! i also spent one day at the track which was great. if you never have done it, you should.

I have had no mechanical issues to date, change the oil every 2k-2500 miles and have 16, 250 miles since 10/18/02!

Same here. I drive up on some 1" wood planks and then I can barely get my jack under the front to jack on the recommended jack point about even with the front wheels. I have to do it in the back as well cause of hitting my Injen exhaust.

I drive the crap outta mine, everyday now. It just hit 9000 miles. It seems fine, just like new. Well, new with a supercharger. The charger has been on for about 7800 miles now. No problems at all.

I leave little gear shifting tire marks all over my town. If you drive around my neighborhood you can spot them everywhere.

Is that driving it hard?

13,000 miles and my car has been through the following;

13 - Track Days (HPDE's on road course)
80 - 1/4 mile runs
50 - Datalogged 0-60mph runs
2 - Dyno Sessions (8 Pulls)
5 - Street Races
1 - AutoX
Plus, every time I get a new mod, I beat the **** out of it
Did I mention on ramps?

I'd say I'm pretty rough on the old gal. So far, the only failing was the clutch. It went bye-bye at the last HPDE of the year. My baby gets the best of everything though. Wash and wax 2 times a week, Mobil 1, Royal Purple and Sheaffer's Oil, etc.

46000 miles, not many mods and mostly highway miles, but when off the highway I'm usually gettin' it, nearing redline on most shifts.

i've only noticed vibrations in the interior and a strange squeak from the rear if I'm in a parking garage and jump it in first gear off and on.

it's as if when the weight is transferred to the rear something is making a strange noise?

i'm not worried, I'll upgrade whatever goes bad

I have 67K miles on mine since 8/02. I have done 5 track days and 5 or 6 AutoX days. So far, my only real complaint is the Brembo brakes. I have gone through 3 rotors and many set of pads. You have to make sure you have fresh pads when you go to the track or you lose a rotor. I have had some problems with rattles and noises, but otherwise the car has held up very well.

12 Track events on road courses (Watkins Glen, Lime Rock Pocono), but these are nothing compared to the way I drive on the highways. I'll spend days entering and exiting highways on the cloverleafs, just getting on and off, on and off. I do need to take a break every now and then to keep from getting dizzy. With all this driving I never seem to really get anywhere.I've probably put on thousands of miles and traveled only about 2 miles. A guy just has to have fun, ya know.

I have only chirped mine 1st/2nd, one time in the 17 months of ownership. 6200 miles and counting

And that was at sea-level, OMG what a difference losing 6,000 feet makes.

Poor Z has been sitting for a month riding out the winter. 2-3 months to go,
