I think the mini deserves it IMHO. it's success and it's impact on the market makes it a very significant vehicle. i think you will see more euro manufacturers and japanese manufacturers offering their subcompact offerings here in the states...which in turn i think could start a trend back to smaller cars.
i test drove the G35 coupe and it might be based off the same platform but it's a very big difference in it's driving experience. you REALLY notice the longer wheelbase...that combined with the distinctly japanese engine makes you feel like you're driving a nice japanese sedan as opposed to a GT with sporting aspirations plus i think the rear of the G35 coupe is very bland...the front of the coupe is gorgeous though...one of the nicest i've seen from a japanese manufacturer.

my opinion, but if the mini wins i will never read motor trend again (probably a lie, but you get the point). after giving the award to the thunderbird last year and the pt cruiser the year before that, i'm come to think that all they care about is style.

We started talking, he said that they were just told that the 350Z is Motor Trends car of the year !!!!!!!!!!!!! He said he just found out and was very happy about it .
