Why arent Nissan's Navi touch screen? My friend who just bought a E320 ...his isn't touch screen either. I would expect a high end car like the E320 to have it......is it probably the oils from the hand messes up touch screen over time?

Nothing to do with greasy hands. Has to with profit. Sell a cheap non-touch screen for $2000.

My guess the touchscreen is just a matter of time, PCs touchscreens are still in the upper $ area. When they come down, look for the little screens to follow, just a guess.......Dave

Even the 03's had the joystick for navigation. Just an FYI.

A friend of mine had navigation with a touchscreen in his Lexus and it wasn't that great. I don't know if it cost or anything else but after seeing how those screens look like after a few months I would rather have a joystick or voice command. The screen had micro-scratches and dirtmarks where all the most used buttons are. If there was screen glare that just made it worse. I guess you could use a stylus and a throw-away screen protector like the PDAs but that wouldn't be convienent in a car. Being gentle with the screen is also hard to do with a moving vehicle.
