Default 350Z in the rain

It's raining here and I haven't driven the car in the rain. I've had it less than a week. How does it handle in the rain?

Keep the TCS ON!

It's been competent in the rain for me so far (and it rains almost daily here in sunny South Florida), but will skitter on damp or wet pavement, especially when taking off from a stop.

It's great in the rain - I actually feel a lot safer in it than I do in my FWD eclipse. Just be careful making left turns - the back end slips out on ya sometimes. But overall, it handles better than I thought it would.

I've noticed the same thing. When you punch it a little making a left from a stop, your rear end will kick out to the right a bit. Each time either the throttle will straighten me out or the TCS kicks in and forces it to correct by shutting you down.

I think it handles the rain extremely well.

Ive driven in the rain alot, and you gotta really gun it to break traction. but if I drive it like normal, it doesnt dream of losing traction. perhaps those that are having difficulty could let the clutch out a bit slower at a lower RPM, a nice smooth start, and be sure to be smooth on gear changes, if you over rev and let the clutch out, it will break.

I dunno, the car is pretty easy to break loose in the rain. I stepped on it a little bit today while in 2nd and the wheels spun. TCS keeps everything in reign, but I tried it again with TCS off and it didn't take much to skitter.

Overall, I think as long as you don't drive like an idiot, it'll be fine.

yes, this is a high powered rwd car with summer tires. there is no reason to over do it in the rain, you go slower if the tires spin, so your not gaining anything.

just take it easy out there people. or your Z will not be so pretty.

Sorry, guy, I realize "it never rains in Southern California", but I don't want to get my baby wet.

Mine drives great. I've been a little skittish because I have hydroplaned in the past, but this car makes one feel invincible.

I must asume non of you have a Base model, because it sucks in the rain As long as you go slow, as in any car, your safe......
