Default nissan sold me wrong model Z, what nismo parts should i get

Skip to bottom if you dont want to read the story..

Alright, my dad dealed with nissan and bought a new 04' 350Z (6spd of course) for my birthday. my parents told me it was the Enthusiast model since it had the HID zenon headlights and Limited slip differential i wanted. well, after looking it over i thought that the headlights looked more like the regular yellow halogen lights. well, my dad figured out the base model doesnt have cruise control but all other models do.

WE DEALED FOR A ENTHUSIAST AND WERE GIVEN A BASE.

since the car had been tittled, it was considered used. the paperwork was filled out for a base model, and they claimed they didnt remember the deal, they also said they couldnt take it back and give us what we payed for. yet , they didnt remember dealing for a en. but said theyd compensate us. why would nissan compensate us if they werent wrong?? they knew they were wrong, but wouldn't admit it, so they said theyd find a way to compensate us. pretty much limited to accessories or paying up to a enthusiast and getting trade in value on our new car.

So here's my question finally.

What NISMO or nissan stuff should i get from nissan. it'll be free for me and is limited to Nissan or "Nismo" things only.

My car is the Base (6 speed) Silverstone color with all black interior and black cloth seats.

I've already have OEM

aluminum kick plates
floor and trunk mats
cargo net
splash guards
rear spoiler (the little bump style)

I would like a couple of the following..

1. Upper models HID Zenon headlights
2. JDM style wing/spoiler
3. nismo exhuast system
4. nismo CAI
5. autodimming rearview mirror(w/ built in garage door controller)
6. darkest legal window tint
7. nismo or brembo brake PADS
8. hows the BOSE sound system or the 10" woofer??
9. possibly nismo wheels

They cant put in navigation because the wiring is normally done during manufacturing.
My mom wont let me get any real performance parts (exhaust is ok)

let me know what you guys think i should try and get..

Sounds like a dealer intentionally screwed you.

Xenons are expensive I dont know if you can get them to do that even tho the manager is likely quite mad at the seller.

Get a Nismo exhaust and a Nismo Clutch type LSD ( be sure to drive it in well, its a better LSD than the stock LSD))

Nismo CAI
maybe Nismo suspension parts too.

Fred..

Don't bother with the BOSE...see if the dealer will give you a different stereo system. I'm not sure about yours but my Nissan dealership has its own little "custom shop" with non-nismo parts and stuff. If the BOSE is all they can give you...don't bother. You'll end up replacing it anyway.

Wow, a shining example a parent who should not really be a parent. If his father is this stupid, what hope does the kid have?

that is a little harsh. people **** up just like you have many times already in your life. (oh thats rights, your that perfect person i keep hearing about, cough bvllshit, cough, cough)

what happened was, he got SCREWED by the dealer. he should be pissed. thats what i think.

hey kid, go for the nismo wheels, exhaust and intake. Screw the bose, you can upgrade to something much nicer down the road when you can afford it.

good luck getting what you need out of that $hitty dealership.

I seriously doubt you will get any NISMO parts, maybe a keychain.

And if you do get them, you will have to pay for them.

Where is it in the Contract that says you bought an Enthusiast?
Does the contract say you can get any NISMO part, ect.

If it has nothing, then you my son and your father have been royally screwed.

GL with your base model, its not all that bad, if u dont mind the cruise, HID's and LSD, and and TCS.

i'd return the car and get the enthusiast model. simply because of the HID's, LSD, VDC or is it TCS that the enthusiast comes with. nismo parts are hella expensive and you can mix and match alot of other stuff to get the same results.

Did he pay for the Enthu and got a base?

In the end you got a better birthday present than most people will ever see.

If the price paid was for a base, then it may not be bad at all...

Now if you're cruising in a 31,000 base model, then I'd start wanting to crack some heads.

To start with, I hope you say "thank you" to your parents twice a day every day for at least a year!!

What price did you pay? MSRP on a Base is $26,500 plus the options you mentioned. Say $27,000 before tax & License. If your dad paid more than that he was taken in on a bait & switch routine and Nissan USA should be contacted. I don't blame him one bit; he was relying on the dealer.

Personally, I would put max pressure on the dealer to switch it out for an Enthusiast; as a young driver you can use TCS & LSD.

Fight the dealer, at least try. Contact Nissan USA like BYR said. The LSD and TCS are options you want. VDC (like TCS) has saved me plenty of times..

skip the radio, the window tint, etc.

get the nismo lsd, exhaust, and rims.

you can always get aftermarket HIDs (since the oem ones aren't too bright anyways), an aftermarket sound system, and other aftermarket stuff later.

Is "Enthusiast" on any piece of paperwork you have?

And like someone else asked, did your parents pay for a Base?

Or did they slip you a "Base" when your parents paid for an "Enthusiast"

Skip all that BS and go and tell the dealer that you paid for an Enthusiast and you have a contract stating that you purchased one. BOTOM LINE! In MD, you have upto 3 days--72 hours to return the vehicle---also call your finance company--mainly this is fraud anyway since they valued---book valued your car as an Enthusiast model anyway. (yes this does matter if something happens to your car. ) Just tell them you want the same car but as an enthusiast model or else you will sue them for fraud, and misrepresenting a product. and as compensation, get them to throw in NISMO stuff after you get the switch. I wouldn't let them do this---also, tell them that you will come there everynight after work and discourage new business (off their lot. --say will park the car and psot a Sign---DO NOT BUY A CAR HERE! Then take them to small claims court, also contact the BBB. The thing that they screwed themselves is the fact that they gave you a purchase order for an enthusiast which is around 2000 more, if not ask for a check for the difference--thing is you purchased a car for 27000 that you didn't realy didn't want, why should you settle for something else when it was their fault.

alright i forgot to mention that we did talk to the dealer about the situation and they are giving us nismo parts because they can get them at inventory cost thats 40% of the price that you see.
Yes we agreed upon the enthusiast and paid for an enthusiast but they wrote down base on the contract. they know of their mistake and are offering to compensate us with some parts. im guessing around 1000$ in parts @ inventory cost,
I am going to have them put in the HIDs, cant i replace the HID bulbs if i want it whiter rather than buying the whole kit for 400$
I also want the nismo exhaust, JDM wing, nismo floormats, the window tint and a shift ****. I think thatll be it cause if i go crazy they might get mad.
I do love my car and am way more than happy with having a 350z, i do thank my parents all the time. i only got one though because a half year ago my dad almost bought a 350 from another dealership for himself. my mom also started wanting a little sports car to drive sometimes. so they got it, we all drive it but i pay insurance so i drive it most of the time.

I think your being to nice. You & your dad don't have to express anger just determination. You expected an Enthusiast & thats what you want.

I'm with the Rat on this one. There are some 'safety features' that you aren't getting by settling for a base with a bunch of add-ons that you really should have as a young new driver. It sounds like you're going to take the base, but it's not the right thing to do. They made a mistake and they should own up to it. Good luck, and be safe while enjoying your new car.
