need help with 'rally' Z
Hi, I'm a new member here, just getting used to this forum (I used to be a S2000 owner and on our board anything political got locked immediately, so I was surprised to see a political sub-forum here!
)
I publish a car magazine in the UK, which means that I get to drive different cars all the time (still waiting for my Enzo test drive though).
For xmas I requested a 350Z for 2 weeks, and I convinced the press office to let me change a few things to it, as long as I give it back as they gave it to me.
I'm going to do a 'tribute' to the 1972 Monte Carlo Rally 240Z (see images)
- To do this i work with a 'wrapping' company, who are going to produce stickers for the red 350Z I'm getting.
here is a mockup of my design so far (missing: the japanese font and a few sponsors)
- I'm also getting VREDESTEIN snow tires that can go up to 165mph!!
check it out: www.vredestein.com I couldn't believe it either!
- I might powdercoat the OEM wheels in black, but if I could find some nice black wheels that fit and are the same size it would help. Any advice welcome!
- BUT here is my problem: PIAA want to SELL me the fog lights I want to clip onto the front grille and over the hood, for the ultimate rally look. I will definitely NOT pay to give them promotion in my magazine and on the web.
Any suggestions of other people who could do these kind of round fog lights? (Hella weren't helpful either)
Any help, advice, feedback is welcome!
yorgo - (off to the Alps soon!)

It's done (almost)
I had the car stickered (with my name, Nissan, and Datsun in Japanese), the wheels painted black, the snow tires fitted (continental), the headlamps painted yellow, and I took it to the alps for a week of drifting and snowboarding!
I'll post the proper pictures when I'll get them back from the lab (they should be cool: 350Z next to classic rally 240Z + some sideways snow action)
Here are a couple I took when I came back to London.
Still missing: the big round foglamps, I had no time to put them on, but it should happen soon..

the yellow paint is what UK drivers used to put on their headlamps in the 80's to go on the continent, to match the yellow shade of french and italian cars...
it can be removed with some solvent.

It looks pretty good. You should clearcoat the wheels though. I think there is also a better way to get your headlights yellow rather than painting them. There should be some overlay or something you could put on. Personally I really like the old Monte Carlo rally look, have fun with the car!

The car as it is now.
Nissan UK decided to keep the car all done up, but changed the DATSUN on the front to a proper NISSAN, and fitted the lamps properly.
I absolutely adore the BMW-style rings on these foglamps.

Needless to say, with these lamps on, drivers clogging the fast lane know that it's time to let me pass!!
