Ceramic Disk pads vs Hawks HPS. Which would be better?
I am going to replace the stock front pads with either a ceramic pad (from TireRack) or HPS but do not know which would be better. My 350ZR is a daily driver and want to be able to see the front wheels for more than one day after I wash the car! I am looking for replacements pads that will brake at least as well as the stock pads and will be as quiet, but have a LOT LESS brake dust! Any thoughts will be appreciated.
From what I know, ceremic pads are quiter and are easier on the rotors with good bite. I use to have Satisfied Ceremic Pads on my previous Z before I switched to Hawk HPS. From my experiance, Satisfied Ceremic was pretty good. I am going to try Akebono or Hawk Ceremic nextime too. I like Hawk HPS because it has very low brake dust but as for the bite, its about same as stock. I am greatful that I don't have any brake noise but I saw lots of people who are complainting about Hawk HPS because of the brake noise. If you decide to try the Ceremic, please keep us posted.
Get the HPS ,
just break em in properly and it wont squeak
plus tell the technician (or you if you install yourself)
to put extra grease.....on the pads....
It is 10x better than the OEM pads in terms of
No (hardly) any Break Dust.....
100% improvement in my opinion as a daily driver....

. I'd say save your $$ and just do the front.
