Default normal amount of things wrong with my z or am i just being ****?

04 z with a 04/04 build date, 9400 miles and this is the list of stuff im bringing to my dealer next week.

Grinding transmission 1st, 2nd gears, occasional
Clanking sound in 1-2-3 gears
clutch chatter when slipping into first from a stop sometimes
rough, inconsistant idle
Tire feathering, minor
rattle from shifter
rattle from passenger door when window is down
rattle from rear hatch
squeaky clutch pedal
window does not roll all the way up sometimes
Seat still clicking/moving under hard acceleration/turning(fixed once already)
gas cap sticking out
drivers side armrest on door has chips
whining noise when on the freeway in 6th gear around 70-80mph, happens when cruising with very little throttle applied

i actually had to write and print up a word document so i could remember all of that.

there are a couple other things wrong with the car, but those will be fixed by the paintshop who screwed it up and the audio store who installed my mb quarts.

Whining noise can easily be your Pop Charger...

I got the rough idle, but it didnt happen until after I put a Nismo CAI in, so im guessing thats the culprit...

I have a few rattles, but when my top is down I dont hear them, and since i pretty much only drive it with the top down it doesnt bother me.

Those are the only 2 items i've noticed on my Z

I just got my Z about two weeks ago and I feel ya on these problems.

I got her with like 160 miles, now at 600 miles so I guess still in break in period. So at my first service I will address these issues, nothing is perfect... learned that from my last new car.

Could always be worse, atleast Nissan seems to be willing to fix without giving the third degree.

i wish my dealer would fix the tranny, thats the only thing i really care about at this point. Last time i took it in i was told it s supposed to do that because its a "racing" transmission. I told the service rep hes an idiot and im never taking my car back to that dealership. I'm going to try another dealer i've heard some good reviews on next week.

I have these w/ a 2004.5 car, still love it to death. The idle started after popcharger, got worse after headers and exhaust - I get a little backfire/misfire aswell. Seat clicking is annoying.. more a creak tho.

The idle on my car did it before the popcharger, its only worse now. With my seat i can actually feel the left side of it move and hear it make a popping noise.

I put my popcharger on about 15 miles after I got the car (car had 91 miles on it) so I never noticed it before hand. The seat does move just has a creak rather then a pop to it.

I have an 04/04 Z Base model. I have issues #1, #2, #3 and the infamous buzzing sound around the passenger side dashboard area. I have about 5,000 miles on it and dont see any feathering on the tires. Hopefully I am dont have this issue.

Yup, 1-3 from day 1 (4 Sept. '02), but I've gotten used to it. #1 is freakin' embarrasing, still. Been on a stick for 30 years, it's not my &@#$! fault.

100 miles after owner.. My dead pedal came loose already. Had to adjust it and stick it back on. I hope this isn't a sign of what is to come with my new Z...

The creak is from metal on metal contact on a guide rod on the right side of the seat near the seat belt anchor. Take the seat out and clean all the metal contact points and give it a good amount of grease. My seat is as quiet as a mouse now. The rattles in the interiors are there on all cars, even high class cars like benz's (my sisters c230 has lots of rattles). You just have to be adamant on chasing them down. I'm down to one slight chatter behind the dash thats a little too much work than its worth, the rest I've chased down and fixed or lessened with rubber shims.

I'm also on my 2nd transmission. I rev match all my downshifts and use redline in it and so far its been a champ (*knockonwood*)

I bought my 04.5 in 04/04... I drive it like I stole it...and go to the track pretty regularly... I'm at +60k miles...

I had the tire feathering fixed at 19k miles. I had the gas tank difficult to fill issue fixed somewhere around the same time. A year or so ago the stereo ate one of my cds and wouldn't eject or play it so I tore it to pieces to get my CD back..... after a track day I had this annoying squeak from the seat when cornering hard, but it went away.... other than that I've had no issues whatsoever....
