So I went to pick up some Xmas gifts from the local mall and I come back to see that someone has swiped the bumper of my Z and managed to crack the rear signal lens.

On my windshield was a receipt (from Starbucks, no less) with the following scribbled almost illegibly onto the back it:

I hit your car.
People are watching me.
They think I'm giving you my informaiton[sic].
Sorry bro.

Really f*#king clever.
I can't put together someone that says "bro" going to Starbucks, but I went there anyway and nobody could help me. The manager said that can't release any video surveillance unless the police request it, so I've filed a complaint and we'll see what happens.

I was so pissed but it's really not that bad of a hit. The bumper has some tiny cracks and white paint smeared on it, but not too bad.

If you have the reciept, then maybe they can tell by the order who it is on camera.

Then perhaps someone knows them that works there....

i've heard of people doing that on a joke, i've never heard of actually someone doing it, now that's funny

Actually the receipt is probably time stamped. The video should probably have a time stamp on it too...

This is a kind of harsh statement. I'll apologize later if I'm wrong, but what if it is true. Which there is a reasonable chance.

 

In todays world of gutless people who don't take responsibility for their own actions, this wouldn't surprise me at all. Hope you get it straightened out. The dude is screwed if you can get a license off of video surveillance becuase of his confession of 'hit and run'. What a dumb-@$$.

Thats not right.. esp if this really did happen to him. Imagine how he feels if it did. Now he's got someone calling BS on him .. That would tick me off to no end.
