Sounds great to me. If it is the car you want and you don't feel you are settling for something you don't want.

My wife steered me towards the Z based on the simple fact that it was a newer car. It's tough to find nice Supra's with low mileage that haven't been tampered with a too much. And I'd suspect that the Z would be more reliable as a daily driver.

my wife keeps telling me that the z doesn't have a back seat, and what are we going to do when we have kids. I tell her that even if i had a supra they wouldn't really fit in those tiny seats, she knows that i have to get one or the other (a g35 is out of the question) and kids won't be in the z either that's just my toy.

i'm only 22 and i want to get this car now before we have kids and then i'll be stuck waiting untill i'm 40+ to get a sports car to play with. but right now i think that supras are bigger at car shows that's mostly what i want one of the two for is for a daily driver that's show car quality. Any more input on wich you would get in my shoes.

get the 350z......(if that's what you want....the heck with price)

when i was your age, i drove a british MGB.....when my first child was born, i traded it for an oldsmobile wagon.......

so now my kids are in college and i bought a Z......so basically i agree with you about getting what you WANT, but your wife is right....you will have to drive something else for a few years......and you won't mind

03excoupe,
There aren't many cars in its price range that I would prefer to a Z...but a used Supra TT is definitely one of them. Unfortunately a good supra is impossible to find - they've all been heavily modified or have 100k+ miles. Also the Supra's exterior and interior styling are beginning to show their age a little. To me the 300ZX has aged much better. That said, the Supra is a very robust vehicle - can handle mad hp with stock block + tranny. If you are building the ultimate drag car, the Supra is a much better starting platform. My guess is that a used Supra will cost far more to maintain and mod.

The 350Z has a lot going for it: probably more dependable than a >5yr old car, a lot more equipment (VDC, TPS, etc.), and a wider selection to choose from. I agree the 350Z is common, but I've never gotten off on having a rare car. I think it's cool that the car is popular.

If you are having kids in the near, near future (<2 yrs) don't get either car. They are not intended for the family man. There are tons of sporty, more practical alternatives in this market.

thank you for the input, i would also have a beater car to drive the family around in. I don't really like 4 door vehicles at all, STI, EVO..etc. I just don't like them I just want a car for car shows and to drive a couple times a week to work, to keep the miles low, and just have fun with (like a hobby)
