Order Tracking

Order Tracking
If you order a MINI Cooper, you have the ability to track it's whole production through your order#, including the name of the boat it's coming over from the UK on, and where the boat is at a given time (watch the iceberg!). Too bad we can't do that with our Zs..................

That's the kind of detail I was hoping for too. I guess Mini's have an advantage, because they're owned by BMW whose got much more experience in the preorder department than Nissan. I'll take what I can get though.

Is there any way to gently nudge my dealer into communicating with me? I have called him several times about news on deliver dates and on the event being held locally that will have a Z for us to drool over. He never responds. I don't want to **** him off before the car comes in or he could mess up the deal. He sure is making my decision to look for another dealer to take care of the car after I get it.

I'm fortunate that I have a pretty good communications channel with my dealer. However, if you need some answers which your dealer cannot provide, I definitely had a good experience calling 1-800-Nissan1, which is their customer service number.
I never received my initial mailing with the order confirmation, and after hearing some of the horror stories about orders being entered wrong, I felt the need to get to the bottom of it by calling Nissan directly (my dealership knew nothing about that round of post cards.)
Anyhow, I got a phone call from a very helpful woman in Nissan Marketing who reviewed my order over the phone, and answered all of my questions.
Maybe they can help you out, too.

Mini is using the same BMW model for tracking your cars. It's very cool..but something that has been set up for a while now. You have to think that BMW is a higher end brand and therefore many people custom order their BMW's...not so with Nissans or even Infiniti's for that matter. What Nissan is doing with the Z is a rarity for this price segment.
