Default Are Your Wheels Chipping Easily?

Are any of you experiencing chips or dents on your wheels?

Mine seem to be chipping easily. My passenger side rear wheel has 4 chips/dents already. Two seem to be dents in the paint(or clearcoat), while the other two seem to be chips or dents in the metal.

My only point of reference is the wheels I had on my MR2. I had 17x7f/17x9.5r Konig Monsoons. They were heavy, knock-offs of Volks, but in the 2 years I had them, I don't think I had one mark similar to the ones I have on my Track wheels...and definitely not in 2700 miles.

A question for those that have owned Ray's rims before: is this normal for their wheels?

Is this common for forged wheels?

Thanks in advance for your comments,

JD

It happens.

The forged rims on my "Z" have chips as well.

Just grin and bear it.

Enjoy the car!

Default You mean the Rays, right?

JD, you have the Rays wheels, a Track model, right?

I have no problems with my 18" Touring wheels.

Unfortunately, I'm not surprised to hear this...I know of at least a dozen SE-R Spec-V drivers who have a chip or two in their 17" alloys.

This would be the wheel for those who aren't aware:

JLA-

I was wondering if this was common to this specific type of wheel. Do TE-37's have the same problem? How about Fikse's? Do they chip easily?

Brackethead-

Yep, I am referring to the Track Package Ray's wheels.

roberto-

No, not from running into curbs. I have learned very wheel to stay away from curbs with my MR2. I don't know, for sure, what is causing this, rocks or other road debris.
