Anyone know if dealers were given 2 Preorder allotments??
In an ideal world, Nissan would have created a website for those who pre-ordered where we could check the status of our car with an access number included with our confirmations.
However, if there were no pre-order program, imagine the feeding frenzy that would be taking place right now for the 6000+ of us who just had to have the car as soon as it was available. Imagine the nightmare of facing greedy dealers as the cars trickled onto their lots. Most likely, few of us would have gotten the exact car we wanted, and as for MSRP, who knows.
The pre-order system Nissna created may be far from perfect, but at least I know the month my car is coming and exactly what it's going to cost. And it was built to order just for me.
Hell... I'm happy.

I think Nissan promised that we would get some kind of tracking when our car is being build. If that's the case, we should know soon....
This goes back to the ideal scenerio.
btw, one of my buddy cancelled from Mossy Nissan today. He ordered the same time as I did. 1/15/2002. He ordered Performance, White. If any of you are interested, the salesman may have that car open for sale.. not sure.
Mine should be the first shipment, probably going to be around early Sept now since they pushed back 3 weeks.

His salesman is Shannon Zilmer.
There are two Mossy Nissan. One at CA, one at TX.
He cancelled it because he is switching to G35c. He has a wife and a 2yr old. He needs the back seat...
I was trying to talk him out of it, but because of his situation, he had to get a car with back seat. But, he really wanted the Z though....

Apexi, he probably made the right choice. Heck, I considered switching, and I have no wife or kids. The 60/40 split into the trunk would be really useful for moving stuff around if needed. I could dump my Neon and have only one car.
But I decided to keep the old Neon and use it whenever backseat/storage is needed. But the G35 coupe is really tempting!
