Dealer called fixing BOSE !!
Just an FYI I got the call from the service manager to come in and evaluate my bass Bose problem. That took 2 secs and he ordered the relacement amp ,and said it would be here Monday. He also said it takes 40 mins max to replace. Nissan jumped on this fix pretty fast. Karl
I called Nissan yesterday and they are fixing my Bose too. I gave them my VIN number and they said it falls under their service bulletin. I don't mind a lot of bass, but don't like the volume problem going up and down.
That brings up a question. Just what problem is this amp replacement supose to fix. Too much bass or rising and falling volume.
My system has too much bass---have to adjust bass to low setting to listen.
I went to my dealer yesterday to get an amp replacement ordered. My dealer tells me that the fix is for the rising and falling volume. Not too much bass.
Stands to reason if you read the procedure on the tech bulletin:
It talks about listening while car is parked with engine off--then while driving. This sounds like they are trying to diagnose the volume problem, not the bass problem.
Feedback Please

Got a call from my dealer (Yonkers Nissan) saying the new amp has arrived. He ordered it last week. They will install it on tuesday.. I'll post a follow up.

I think it is somehow a combination of both problems. I just recieved my car on Monday and this is my take on what is happening.
It seems like the volume changes, but I have also definately noticed times when it seemed like the volume stayed the same, but the bass increased the the treble flattened out.
It is almost not like it is Volume as much as TONE... with a dash of volume.
SO... I just called two local Nissan dealers and explained this problem hoping they had already seen and fixed the issue. Both of them had no idea what I was talking about and I even mentioned that it is a KNOWN problem.
They said they have no tech bulletins and they would not fix (or replace) anything until they had diagnosed it.
The second service dept. wanted me to LEAVE my car with him. I said that I never leave the Z anywhere except my garage!

I got my Amp replaced yesterday and it definetely improved both the over boomy bass and volume adjustment... but now it seems to have hardly any bass. I'm playing around with it and started to reduce the treble to the negative and max out the bass. I'm just looking for clarity with defined bass and having a hard time finding it. It's more bearable than before... but not what I payed for!
