Default Tranny Times

I apologize if this has already been posted elsewhere, but I'm looking for a Z and don't know whether to get an auto or manual trans. Does anyone know the 0-60 or 1/4 times for both? thanks

lol here we go again. 6mt is faster (duh) but mainly due to the fact of the drivetrain loss in the 5at. But the 5at is impressive. Best reported 6mt (stock) on this forum (that I have seen, track timed) is 13.68 best reported 5at (stock, see disclaimer above) is 13.99.

I drive a 5at...and I don't feel a need to justify why I went with the 5at. If your on the fence I recommend you go with the 6mt. I see more people regret the 5at than I see regret the 6mt.

Sports cars like the Z shouldn't even be offered in auto. It should be against the law or something

This is exactly the kind of childish stuff you are going to hear if you get a 5at...

Sucks that Z owners can't be friendly with each other.

People like your parents should't have been allowed to mate. It should be against the law or something.

lol, sorry if I offended any of you, I know my statement was a little harsh. Its just my opinion. I dont have anything against AT Zs. I just think that ATs in sports cars rob away the fun in the car from the driver. If you like to drive just to get to a destination, fine. I like to drive just to drive and the only way to enjoy that is with MT. It makes you feel more involved in and more in control.

I'm not offended. I just could not resist that reply. To each his own, enjoy your 6mt

Thats fine and people that love to drive stick thats cool. But a lot of stick drivers act as if b/c the next Z on the road might have an auto it takes something away from your car or we are somehow less of an enthusiast for the car. Everyone has reasons for getting 6mt or 5at... i just never understood why 6mt drivers feel like they have a chip on their shoulder.

I actually think having an auto Z makes you more of an enthusiast in some cases. In a way, its saying you care more about just having the car than having fun with the car and I respect that.
