Default Worst speeding ticket

What was your worst speeding ticket ever and how much did it end up costing you in fines/insurance?

I just got one for 105 in a 65... ouch.... I'd like to know how much damage I am looking at here...

Not sure about where you're at but...here in Ohio, 40+ over is wreckless op and will get you're car impounded, arrested and six points on your license. Better get a lawyer.....

When I had my Mustang, I got pulled over (after being followed for a mile or so, I knew he was behind my, my radar picked him up, but apparently after he already got me, so I was going the speed limit for the mile till he actually flashed his lights) going 75 in a 50. Truth was, I was going closer to 90, but he clocked me at 75 :-p I argued with the cop saying I wasn't going 75, which is true, I was going 15 mph more!! But luckily he got a call, he basically said 'kids like you don't deserve fast cars like this' and had to leave. Not even a warning, just a lecture from this young *** cop. Oh wells! (This was on the Fairfax County Parkway near the Route 66 exits (over by Fair Lakes) for those of you in NoVa)

Texas, and we don't use points.

The cop said he could have arrested me but since I wasnt being a jerk and had all my license and insurance and everything he just wrote me a ticket... a big one... which will cost me a lot no doubt. I may still get a lawyer to help out.

Holy crappers! That makes me feel better..

Did you insurance see that? My biggest concern here is insurance, and I reckon the ticket is going to cost me around 500 bucks...

And that was in TX too.. how did you handle it? Did you just pay it or did you have to go in and deal with a judge and all that mess... I dont look forward to that.

It also sucks thinking of what I could have bought with this money, I was going to upgrade my computer...

Looks like Ill be visiting the track more often now to get my need for speed... too bad its 2 hours away

I had recieved a ticket froma NYS Trooper like a month before and I remembered his name. When this guy pulled me over I mentioned that the other cop was my uncle(mom's brother to clarify the difference in the last names). I told him that my uncle gave me a ticket last time because he was sick of my childish driving habits and would kick my *** if he caught me again. I then told him that I know I am an idiot for doing what I did. But I just got into a fight with my g/f on the phone and almost missed my exit.

Well it worked.

But I will never risk that again!!!!

Yeah I think this one is my wake up call...

Its not worth the ticket... and not worth risking getting arrested... there were two motorcycle troopers and the one not in charge wanted me in cuffs really badly. Not sure why, I mean, I was speeding in a sports car in no traffic... its not like I shot someone.

But oh well, thats another argument.

Did you use a lawyer?

Thats my plan, to suck up...

I am going to ask for deferred adjudication and one year probation (meaning if I do it again, I get my DA revoked)... and I will still have to pay alot for the ticket, but it will save my insurance...

But they may not go for that...

had my Z for about 3 days when I decided to wind it out while merging onto a not so busy interstate. Was not aware that there was a cop behind me. He finally caught up about 3 miles down the road and wrote me up for reckless driving. He wrote on the ticket that he sped up to 95 in an attempt to catch me but wasn't able to make the stop until I got held up by traffic. Luckly our attorney at work "took care" of it for me (small town politics), so no cost, no points, etc.

I dunno, speeding is one thing, but what exactly is wreckless driving? Doign 105 in a 350Z is a cinch on a clean empty road during the day?

Ever doine 75 in an Explorer? Thats just as dangerous as 105 in a 350Z...

I am glad he didnt write me up for wreckless, because I was only going straight, no accelerating or changing lanes.. no need to no other cars..

Hope I can get mine "took care" of too

Driving on a suspended license (never any DUI's....just about everything else though!).

Cop put me in thumb cuffs !!!

p.s This was about 30 years ago. I managed to elude capture quite a few times. I never spent a night in jail either.

Are those like Chinese Finger Cuffs???

Wish this was 30 years ago when you could get away... cant do it any more...

and BOY they dont like it if you run... I will NEVER run.. I have seen what happens..

I could have easily in this case.. The cops were about a mile back when they flipped on the lights and I could have easily turned and lost them (I think) if I had not slowed down... but had I not slowed down, I probably would have gone to jail with a few knots on my head to boot.

I had a 106 in a 65 (haha, I beat you!!! jk). The total came out to be $700ish & $400 in lawyer fees (of which i only paid $100, the **** sucker didnt help me at all!).

The court dropped the ticket to a 104 in a 65 (woopty fukin doo!!) so it wasn't a wreckles driving ticket. I got lucky he clocked me AFTER I slammed on the brakes, I was doin 125ish.

I deserved the ticket & it cost me $800 total plus a 4 hr trip to court (by my buddy's school, which is where i was going).

Good luck bud, both of us should have been arrested for this!
