Default Which rear spoilers can be taped?

Hi, I was thinking about a oem stock spoiler but the dealership want to charge $200 to install it. If it can be taped on that would be great. Has anyone here just used tape for the stock spoiler and it stayed on for long periods? Or, any other moderate looking spoilers that can be taped as well? I know Data Systems spoilers can be taped but I dont know where to buy them. Any suggestions?

Welp, I've got the tape and adhesion promotor goop just waiting for my new spoiler to come in the mail. I bought the one from spoilerdepot.com that fits over the original little spoiler on my '03 Track. I talked to few guys on here who bought the same spoiler, and they said the color match and fitment were very nice.
I called 3M and talked to an "automotive expert" who said that lots of people simply use the tape and the adhesion promotor instead of drilling. He said it'd be as strong as if it were attched from the factory.
**fingers crossed!**

What and where can I buy this adhesion promoter? Do you have links/pics of the spoiler that you are buying?

TexasDar lip spoiler comes w/tape already on it. Have put one on both my wife's and my roadsters. Over 10k mi. on both w/no problems. Tape sticks like you wouldn't believe! [although I still wouldn't use it to attach a large wing].

And BTW, you do NOT need the adhesion promoter if you get the new 3M tape and properly clean your paint w/rubbing alcohol. Some people tried using the promoter w/the newer tape; I've heard reports that it damaged some folks' clear coat, and worked TOO well in that it turned the tape to mush and the spoiler started to "slide" after about a month or so.

Re: the adhesion promotor, I'm just quoting what the representative at 3M itself said to me.

I bought 6 packets of the stuff on e-bay. Everywhere else I looked, you had to buy an entire box. The spoiler I bought was the bigger of the two for the Z at spoilerdepot.com
