Am I really gonna TAPE my spoiler on????
I ordered the larger spoiler (of the 2 available) from spoilerdepot.com and after reading a bunch of threads on attaching them, I think I'm gonna tape it on with 3M tape and see how solid it feels. But.......
Has anyone had a spoiler come off after using just the double-sided tape? The guy at 3M said that he wouldn't have a problem using just the tape and adhesion promotor he recommended.
Hate the thought of drilling into my baby and seeing those blue and silver metal shaving come twirlling off the bit.

Don't forget to remove any car wax. Use a professional wax remover or (plenty of
) alcohol. The tape won't stick and hold well if you don't.
The tape worked so well for me that I have found many other uses for it around the house.

Another tip:
Use different widths of masking tape to locate the spoiler or wing. By sticking the tape parallel to the sides and bottom of the hatch edges, you can get a perfect fit. You might need 2", 1.5", .75" rolls though. For example, you might need to start with the 2" and then put a 1.5" on top of that.
Although some wings and spoilers come with a template, using tape this way might make it easier to get the wing or spoiler aligned the way you want it.
