the cheap rubber ones take most of the abuse, and you can get ones that are raised up and actually hold the dirt. ugly, but effective

I have rubber mats on top of the stock mats.

OK, I checked mine and there was obvious wear where my heels go (clutch and gas). However, my passenger side even had wear, but I do not carry passengers much. The wear on the otherside was all over too. I think whoever talked about the rain wearing out the mats is absolutely correct. It's been raining like crazy for a while in SoCal, and I think thats the reason. Or else I would go to the dealership and b*tch.
