Default Raining in So Cali... Had to drive the beater... BOO HOO!

This is the FIRST TIME I drove the beater since I got my Z, although I had originally had planned to drive the beater for an average of about half of the days commuting to work. (2 or 3 days a week)...

My beater is an SVX... you know... the back to the future windows, 230 HP, heavy car, automatic, all wheel drive...

Well, I was really disappointed until I started to hit some traffic. Man that automatic is sooo convenient when you're in a roll and stop. Also, the visibility on the SVX, I mean all around is MUCH better than my Z... considering how low the side windows come to. Ride was more cush in the SVX as well.

But of course I don't get the stares and gawking in my SVX... Also, the Z is ALOT more powerful. All in all, I think I'll try more to keep the Z as my weekend pleasure car and "show off to lunch dates" car... =)

NICE beater

Also just as rare as the Z is. I NEVER see them.

How long have you had it? How much did you pay for it?

I was gonna drive my beater too, but I haven't driven it in so long, the battery died. Darn, I HAD to take the Z instead

What neighborhood is that? Are you doing the Palomar Mtn run tomorrow?

I have been out driving the Z. No problems to report in the rain at least. Car felt real good and predictable.

Getting the car to drive two times a week? Snow, alright, but rain, come on.

You have a Z, so it's okay for me to say that your Subaru is one ugly POS. lol

As for the rain, it's been raining since yesterday afternoon in the bay area. I like this kinda weather.

Yeah, we get so much sun and blue skies in Cali, it's cool to see something different.

I must say the Z33 feels so much more stable and safe in the rain then my old Z32 TT, I had no rear end slide out, and Traction/Slip only engaged twice, when I really gave it some gas acceralting from a stop. Bottom line, the car handles wonderful concidering it's a stick/300HP/Rear Wheel drive car.

BrianStorm - it's really nice weather here. i was supprised when i gave some gas on the corner, the rear slided out little but my S is still under my control

LA-Z - i have no chance to try the Z, i just got the new S couple weeks ago. i believe the Z's handling as good as S too. no question about the nice Z.

anyway, guys we got all new cars, need to take good care of it.

It's a 1994. Had it for about 4 years now. Bought it used from a buddy for 9k... Way below bluebook at the time. Now the car's not worth too much.

Sorry, but I can't make the meet... I had some special things come up unexpectedly... Some GOOD THINGS~

Met my first love (first crush, whatever you wanna call it) from 5 years ago... This was back up in Berkeley, and we broke it off when I moved back down to So Cali... We didn't want a long distance thing. But she just moved to So Cali just 2 weeks ago, and I really believe meeting her again may have to do with a small play of fate.

Well, she looks as good as ever... and I am spending the weekend getting reaquainted with her.

Well, it's a good thing I have the Z, so you can't say my GARAGE is filled with ugly POS's!!!

I actually like the styling of the SVX. I think it's one of those "hate it or love it" cars.

Come on, the rain is just a good way to experiment with how the VDC behaves. I've been goosing it around almost every corner just to see what it does. I took a wide off-camber left pretty fast, and the VDC blipped the brakes and shut down the throttle a little, it was very controlled. It reacted a little slower than I expected, I was about to start counter measures when it kicked in. I was kind of wierd just going along with the car as it delt with the situation.

I have been waiting for some slick weather so I could see how this thing works. I didn't want to find out in an extream situation, slow speed slick conditions has given me an idea of what this thing can do. Still need some more playing. Of course I'll turn off the VDC for some sideways pratice if the situation ever presents itself (i.e open space with no one around).
