I would like to hear what settings others are running with similiar tires/rims. What camber do you have/ what tires/ and how is the feathering?

I have 19/245 tires in the front and 19/275 in the back.

Front
Left - Right
Camber -.8 -.9
Caster 8.0 8.3
Toe .09 .07


I had the suspension aligned because of the TSB (i had a really bad case). I have since bought aftermarket tires/rims and had them aligned again. 5,500 miles later, they are starting to feather again. Short of buying new tires every 10k miles, what can i do?

 

Can't adjust stock camber or caster so everyones will be different. Your numbers are fine except the toe. They should be lower, more like .01 which is what the TSB is supposed to recommend I think (don't have it handy).

 

No one around me really knows what to adjust it to. (local dealer and tire shops). I'm just looking for a setting that will stop this feathering.

 

Nissan's assessment of the problem was claimed to be excessive toe. As has been discussed quite often there are still some that have the problem even after reducing the toe. Could be another problem or the alignment machine isn't calibrated correctly so the readings are off.

I've lowered my car so my camber readings are high but my toe is .01 and I've had no sign of feathering.

Toe does seem to be way off. So if i adjust this to about .01, and rotate my front tires, I should be good to go?

One thing... the diagram you gave me shows the toe in inches, and my printout from the alignment has it in degrees....

 

No guarantee. Like I said not everybody's problem was resolved. I don't think anybody believes Nissan's corrective solution is 100% conclusive. Some think it's a suspension design problem and that Nissan is just trying this band-aid fix so they won't have to redo all the suspensions out there.

Don't know what to say about the difference in measurement methods (degree vs. inch). I've only seen it in inches for any of my cars.
