Default Replacement Shifters are they worth it?

I am thinking of replacing the stock shifter with a B&M short shifter because I find that sometimes the trans will just not go into the next gear easily or I miss it altogether.

I would like to hear from the members who have replaced their shifter as to thier option if the replacement made the car shift better.

IMO it would seem that the rough shifting would caused by the trans not the shifter and replacing the shift shaft would only make it quicker to miss the shift!

The throw of the shifter already feels pretty short to me. I have only replaced the shifter in my Honda and I loved it. Not too sure how the Z would react, I just thought that I would give your question a little bump cause im kind of curious too.

I have searched this site and other forums and have not found much on what poeple find after they install the short shifter. It seems like a good upgrade for the money if it helps.
