Default Front Bumber Replacement Cost - Anyone know how much?

I just damaged my front bumber today pulling the car into the garage when I hit a ladder. It wedged between the tire and the corner of the front bumber leaving a huge, deep gouge. Has anyone had to replace their bumper yet and if so what was the cost with parts and installation? Does the bumber come prepainted in the car color or do they paint it at the dealership? Thanks!

1) They do not come painted.

2) Dealer bodyshops tend to suck. The dealership I work at usually uses a private body shop instead of our own (located at one of our stores) because they are cheaper and produce a better quality finished product. Find a good private shop in your area.

Unfortunately I can't access my parts catalogue from home. My guess is about $400 painted and installed though.

OK - Thanks. I was worried it was going to be a lot more. Touching the piece I believe it is all plastic so I take it any kinf od repair is pretty much out of the question?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure you just have to replace it. Where do you live? If you live in anywhere near boston and want to come pick up the parts I can get you a pretty good deal through my parts department. Shipping on something that big becomes inhibative.

Too bad. Well if you ever need any parts for the Z, even NISMO stuff try me out and I'll see what I can do. Just go through my website www.simplexproductions.com and send me a message.

250ish for the bumper and paint depends on where you go. Usually 400-500ish for a quality job.

Butter, I had this exact repair done a year ago.
Go to Formula One in Tucson - they are awesome.
Insurance covered mine - I believe it's around $400-$500.

Bodaguy - did Formula One order the bumper or did you have to do that from the dealership and then they did the painting and installation?

Just to clear some future confusion: I think you are talking about the "Front Fascia" and not the "Bumper". The bumper is metal and is hidden behind the front fascia. (There is one behind the rear facsia as well). This is important if you end up ordering one from a Nissan place.

The inside bar is called a reinforcment bar and the bumper is a bumper cover or a front fascia....

Sorry, yes it is a front bumper cover.
Formula One orders it - that was the price, $171 - and does the work.
