gran turismo concept
does anyone here have a modded ps2 and have gran turismo concept with the 2003 nissan 350z you can actually drive? gran turismo's cars are exactly like the real things...the 350z in gran turismo concept should be exactly like the real thing.
anyone have it? well i will...after tomorrow. i'll give you a full rundown later, after playing the game for...oh...a couple hours...days...racing solely with the 350z of course

Gran Turismo 3 - A Spec has the concept 350Z that we were used to for some time that you have to win. Gran Turismo Tokyo Concept has all the cars that were introdice last yeat at the Tokyo Auto Show. The 350Z is in this game, not the concept Z but the full version. Of course, based on the info they had last year when they first showed off the car.
This game is a stand alone game, not a plug in game so anything you win/mod/drive in this cannot be saved to a memory card and then used in Gran Turismo 3 A Spec. The price is about $35US for the Tokyo Concept game and yes, it is coded for Japanese units only unless you have the mod chip. The entire game is in Japanese of course, and it only has five tracks or something like that. I had heard there are places in the US that imports it, so if you're a hardcore GT fan... you might watch for it.
The next major video game to hit the market with the 350Z with complete stats is Sega GT 2002. Earlier versions of Sega GT were terrible, for Dreamcast, Playstation etc. but this new version that will be released for September of this year, has already been touted as being better than Gran Turismo 3 for PS2.
There are several screenshots for Sega GT 2002 out and many have seen these shots and commented that they were not as clean as GT3 for PS2.... problem being that the sceenshots were taken from the game that was shown as being 55% complete. Still had some way to go, cleaning the pixels etc. It was shown at the Electronics Consumer Show last month (EC3) and writers from many magaiznes saw a version that is 75% done and it was this version that had them saying that GT3 finally had competition.
The coolest thing about Sega GT 2002 is that you can race any series of car for each company. So if you like the Z for example, you can race each and every Z ever created. The Skyline GTR is in there, you name it, this game has it.
It's not the same game as Gran Tursimo and when the new Gran Turismo comes out next year, I am sure it'll lay claim to being the best again etc.
Oh yeah... did I mention it's ONLY for Xbox? Sorry... guess I missed that part. (haha)
Xbox has is faster in every category than the PS2 so it makes perfect sense that IF a company could tap into that the way that Sony tapped into the PS2's power for GT3, that the Xbox version would be better. Now it just comes down to, whether or not a company can tap into that power.
Ah well, playing Sega GT2002 online against others through Xbox Live will be a good time I think. You can mod your car up, drive stock, whatever you want. I am too excited about it.
Alright, I'm done.

Yes, there are five or six (not all the models, but several for sure) Skyline's in the game but there is only one Z. The 350Z. That's great, don't get me wrong. You start off with 11 cars and then unlock the other 40 through the game. Some of the cars are already in Gran Tursimo 3 mind you, but that's cool. If this game comes to the US in english, it'll sell because the game is so darn good to begin with. I bought the PS2 when it first came out, played GT3 until my hands were numb... but eventually got bored with the game after completing it, unlocking all the goodies etc. It's still a great game, don't get me wrong. Easily the best driving game, and yes, the game all others are measured against.
My point is that since there are designers that pulled the best the PS2 could offer out and put it into a game, if a company can do the same with the xbox, the game will be better because the xbox is a much superior machine in every way. The first Gran Tursimo was good but compared to number two, it sucked. Number two pailed in comparison with three... and four will surely make three look like two.
Same with the Xbox... Sega GT 2002 has already been called more advanced that GT3 but we'll wait and see when it comes out. It will be the only game that you can play an era of Z's or Mazda's or whatever against each other. It has all the Skylines as well, including the GT-R Concept so yeah, I have to wait.
Where on earth did you get the Concept Tokyo from? Can we get a digital picture of it or something? I want to see this sucker!

well my friends, gran turismo concept tokyo is awesome.
i have, say, connections. got a copied version for 20 bucks. good deal.
first things first. i'm pretty sure the 350z in there is the real deal. the exhaust sound is indentical to that of the video with sound in it posted here a couple days ago, albeit with better quality. and it sounds awesome. quiet at idle, beautiful at redline, with a loud deep growl and a kinda of m3-ish mechanical ting to it. nice.
and this car is AWESOME. it's FAST. it accelerates like NO OTHER. after unlocking the car with my calsonic skyline (ungodly fixed up) i realized that the z was 3/4 as fast as my skyline, which does 60 in like, around 4 seconds. the z is faster than the integra type r (60 in around 5.6 sec) and faster than an nsx. yay!
and it handles nicely. it doesn't turn in very easily, but it keeps its line very nicely, NEVER spins out. but, my friends, this car is fast fast fast. and sheds off the speed in short time might i add. if you do plan to use this car on a track (given i was racing with a controller) plan on using that brake a lot. i did. it's the only way not to end up in the grass.
any questions?

Well here are 14 years later...
Grand Touring in a Touring Edition, it is rather Grand, and well probably only worth a Grand...
and like in real life too...
