Question How Do YOU get the Z on 4 Floor Jack Stands???

Hi there,

I'm having a hard time 'safely' getting my Z on to 4 - floor jack stands.

Can somebody share a good/safe method to do this? Where are you jacking up the car from? (Pic would be appreciated! )

Also, I'm using a standard floor jack.

Your thoughts would be appreciated!

Thanks

You need to read the manual man.
Im not trying to be smart but this would save you alot of headache.
The car comes with a jack and you really need to use that jack to avoid damage, Also the book shows you the jack points and how to get stands under it.

I know that the manual has instructions, but I didn't find those sufficient.

There is always a 'better way' to do things, thus I'm posting on the forum.

That isn't really correct. He is NOT jacking on the appropriate jack points. Use the "Garage Jack Points" in the picture and place the jack stands on all 4 corners at the Safefy Points. It is kind of hard to get to the one in the front cause it is way far back. I drive the car onto some wood boards to give me more space to get the jack under it. You will need a good garage jack and not your stock one or a WalMart special. I would recommend doing the front wheels first and then the rear because there is no way to lock the front wheels and if you do the rear first and don't chock the front wheels the car might start rolling forward. I had my car on 4 stands for 2 days doing my Stoptechs.

Drive up some Rhino Ramps for the fronts and then jack up the rear. Then place the stands. Seems like a feasible solution.

Or the rears first up the ramps as per Kind Tut (the front might scrape though).

i have the AC delco jack/stand kit, and every time i put my car on jack stands, it doesnt seem secure or safe. like the pinch rail doesnt sit properly in the jacks. what brand of jacks do people use that seem to securely hold up the Z??

When jacking up the car from the front jacking point, is it actually putting the jack on the black frame (with holes in it). I'm not too clear where to put the jack head.

Does anybody have a real picture of the car?

I've read that alot of people are using the 'rubber blocks' that you can buy at Pep Boyz. Can't remember the real name for this product.
