Default 2005 350Z w/2889 miles = NEW TRANNY

title says it all. took it in today because 5th was grinding. i left the dealership with a 2005 Dodge Neon. talk about loosing your mojo. at least its the same color. i should have her back in about 5 days. looks like Nissan can't get their **** straight after 3 model years.

This is still so random I would blame the individual(s) assembling it at the factory.

They should track the VINs on these cars with the tranny issues and see where and when and by who assembled it.

I have almost the same mileage, so far it still shifts the same as it did new (a bit stiff, but goes into gear w/o a hassle), no grinds so far.

It's been a number of complaints over the transmission issues! I would like to know, how many are there that are manual and automatic that had their trannys replaced! I think that would give us some idea, if it's more nissan or driver! Lets hear it.

My fuzzy math logic would say about 2% of all MT have some sort of grind problem.

1. The internet forums would reflect more of the negative problems of the Z rather than smooth operation of the vehicle.

2. If there are 30,000 Z's sold per year, 2003 - 2005, you figure there is about ~ 60,000 - 90,000 Z's running around. So you would figure about 1,200 - 1800 Z's have grind problems. You can bet out of that many people, they will post something in regards of the gear grind.

3. Okay I'm ready to be shot down with my fuzzy math now.

I'm surprised that your 05 Z has tranny problems. I thought Nissan fixed it by now. Maybe your stuck with a lemon tranny that was made from the problematic assembly line?

Neons suck....If they told me I'd be taking a neon home, I'd look at them like this.. .... and go ..and then on them . Then I'll say "I'll just take one of those nice chairs with the shiny wheels that you have behind the desk because" I COULD AT LEAST GET LAID WITH THAT!! I guess I'll be walking home or catching a bus

well i'm having my gauge pod replaced also b/c the odometer LCD was bleeding over in the numbers too. i can't have the car b/c when they order the new one, it is programed with the milage when tey ship it. so i can't be driving the car around while the milage stays the same. that would be fraud. lol. it started grinding what seemed like the second week i had it. i dunno.

out of the three Zs i test drove these couple weeks, only one gave me a hard time when shifting. So i guess the tranny issue is still there.

That is terrible. Can't believe a Nissan dealer would give you a Neon!!! At least an Altima.

I know every time you sit in that Neon , you really want to whip someone's behind. I feel for you,and hope you get your car back ASAP.

I am one of the first people to have my transmission replaced August of 2002...they made a revised tranny based on it....im sure it was just a quick fix because the transmission i recieved and been using grinds every now and then.
