Default UNdersteer/Oversteer

A lot of people say that the Z suffers from understeer.

However when I take a corner quick I feel oversteer vs. understeer. Is this just how I drive? or is thier something wrong with my Z.

Its really ovibious when I make a U-turn.

There is nothing wrong with the way you drive. The reason cars understeer is because the front breaks traction before the rear does. The Z has norrower tires in the front, thus it is prone to understeer.

I understand what causes understeer and that the Z is prone to it. But why am I experienceing oversteer? When driving agressively but not wild

Maybe something to do with the tires you have.

How fast are you turning the steering wheel when you approach a turn? You can definitely invoke oversteer in this car if you turn the wheel in an extremely rapid, snapping motion vs. using a smooth, controlled motion.

Also, having your tires filled to a non-standard PSI can affect the handling, as can extremely hot or cold temperatures.

Im not snapping the wheel, I try smooth motions. Maybe I am invoking it and just not realizing it; and I just checked my pressure at its at 32psi cold.

ps. OEM tires

not exactly. the elise is balanced but has narrow tires in front. it's all in the suspension tuning.

Going only a few MPH while cranking the wheel all the way...and then gunning it will let the back end kick out a bit. No doubt.

But taking a smooth curve at 60mph is a different story.

When people say the Z understeers, they are talking about high-speed corner entries. Power-on oversteer that you're seeing is normal.
