Funny, bought another car (non-Z) and it helps me appreciate the z. . .
So I have been driving about 150 miles a day for work in the Z and it was killing me. I rode the Metrolink trains for a while until the damn crash in Glendale. So today I went out and bought a '05 Lexus RX330 AWD. It is a nice cushy marshmellow cocoon of a SUV. Me and all the soccer moms in Irvine are driving one now. I have found the perfect rushhour traffic cocoon to sit in. However switch back and forth between the two is amazing. Funny that spending $41K on a non-Z makes you appreciate the better qualities of the Z more. I like both for different reasons. Each as a specific mission and purpose.
I bought a Titan 6 months ago to commute and tow race cars in. I sold after 2 months. I just couldn't properly perform roadrage in a vechile that large. I now use the Z or WRX for commute and tow with my neighbors turbo desiel.
I've never tried a midsize SUV maybe they feel better.

i used to drive a minivan also, and on bad days still do. problem is i try to drive the van to fast even tho i never realy go that fast in it. just ends up smelling of burnt stuff when i arrive.
That is my worst fear...Having to buy a Minivan. NEVA NEVA NEVA!!!
Even with 2 kids right now, no way is a mini-van being parked in my driveway.
2 weeks till my Z can come out and play!!!!

lol i kinda like the minivan. i can carry car parts around, i can beat the crap out of it, its fun! its a 93 though, not a new one. its the best beater ever! and im 23 - no kids and no soccer mom image.
I know what you mean. Last weekend I visited my parents for my mom and sisters birthday and they have an RX330. It's a very nice SUV and great if you wanna be isolated a cozy. Hard to imagine making the switch from Z to RX. Two totally different cars for two totally different applications.
The RX is more of a family and out of town vehicle. It doesn't make you feel tired on long trips and very quiet ride. The Z is the opposite suspension is tight you feel the bumps on the road. The back aches when sitting to long. The Z is good for the weekends rather than a daily driver.
My sig other has been back in Japan for the past week and a 1/2 so I've been driving our '01 Pathfinder.
I've completely fallen in love with the heated seats, the auto tranny, the bose 6 disc changer with the audio controls on the wheel, the sunroof, etc etc. I was thinking luxury is nice.
Has the same engine, so I still get to hear that VQ power.
I check out M5's the other night. '01's not new.
Perhaps I can have the best of both worlds?
