Default Key replacement - $150 at dealer!?!

I lost one of the keys for my car - the dealer quoted me $60 for the key and $80 to reprogram the car.

Anyone know if I have to use the dealer to program the key or is there a procedure to do it myself?

Thanks for any info.

The key you can get on Ebay for less than the $60 the dealer quoted you.

As for programming it, I think your at the mercy of the dealer who does it.

Id imagine different dealers might charge less for the programming.

Dealers are privitely owned business. So they can charge anything they want . You may want to ask around and see who charges the least. go to www.nissanusa.com put in your zipcode, and you can find several dealership within a 100 mile radius.
