Default Are the dealers stupid or giving me BS?

I've been taking my car to the dealer almost once a month for TSB's and other problems. Everytime I bring in the car and state the common problems such as tank won't fill, tire alignment (cupping or feathering), window streaks, axle clicking etc they always tell me I'm the first Z that has ever come in for any of those common problems. Either they sell no Z's, or no one trusts them enough to get their cars serviced, or they are giving me some line of horse crap. The dealer I'm referring to is Brown's Arlington Nissan in Northern Virginia. I only go to them because they are 2 miles from where I live. It's getting annoying because I sometimes have to bring in documentation on how they address the issues before they acknowledge it. Any input?

probably just the same bullcrap they say to all their customers. Jeez, it's like they built the car and they take it personally that something is wrong with the car. Maybe it's just your service advisor as well.

This is where forums like these come in handy. I had my tranny replaced about 5k miles ago. Before they had agreed to replace it (my 2-3 shift was grinding) they were giving me all kinds of BS. So, what I did was printed out the entire "post here if your tranny has been replced" thread which was like 55 or so pages on 8 1/2 x 11 and stuck it in a manilla folder. I then went to the dealership and asked to speak with the GM. I get in his office and tell him that there are TONS of Zs that have had their trannies replaced due to this same issue. He said "thats not true" .....so I tossed the folder with the 55 pgs of the afformentioned thread on his desk (THUD!!). He said "oh, I see" after I explained what was inside and I soon had a new tranny. So you see, sometimes you have to go out of your way to prove your point, but thats what forums like these do. Good Luck!!

Yes, I believe they get paid by Nissan for warranty service. However, if they are anything like Audi (I have a friend who is a former Audi mechanic), the dealership AND the mechanic dont make nearly as much for warranty work as they do on non-warranty customer paid labor. This is why they get the tude with you when you need a warranty issue resolved.

Its bull ****. My dealer told me that same thing about the notchy tranny (when cold) and the problems with Bose (though now my bose works great, and the dealer never touched it). If someone at the dealer told me the sky was blue, i would actually assume they were not telling the truth.

I believe most, if not all, car companies are like this.

our other car is an audi and the service people there are first class. they are much more thorough in their inspections and they don't even hesitate to find out what your complaints are, they just listen inspect and fix, to make you leave happy. you'd think a car company emphasizes good customer care. why are infinity dealerships better and are cleaner than the nissan places i go. does quality service cost that much more?

Reggi,

What did you do to your bose that made it work great?
