350z Vs Evo
from what i know...the evo stock has good bottom end since its 4x4....but the top end is pathetic...and i know you evo drivers will agree..speaking of stock evo8...now everyone knows the sti is a lil bit faster than the evo...i have seen Z's (initial d) and his brother in an sti race of a roll...the z will pull on an sti from a roll...so..the z will pull on a evo from a roll...josh whos on here i 4got his name..also one of our friends...has a tt z...now both the evo and sti are modded..the sti pushes 300rwhp 2 the wheels...and the evo probably 350...both of them will take the z of the line because of z having traction problems..but of a roll again...the z will take them both..even if hp are equal....oh and btw...you must be really HUGE not 2 fit in an Z...it is a sports coupe..are you expecting luxury?
This is a terrible place to ask this question. Everyone here is obviously going to say the Z is better, that's why we all bought one! If you want the best performance for dollar, buy the evo. If you want everything else (including decent performance), buy the Z.
evo or z.. let me see... get the Z! i've driven the evo and it is a nice car but the z has more class and is a fun quick little car that can be faster... it only takes money to make something fast.
I was going to buy an Evo but the jackasses at the Mitsu dealership didn't know what the F*** they were doing.
Idiots I tell ya.
I'm very happy I got the Z...some things just work out for the better.
Throw a turbo on the Z and any advantage the Evo had is gone imo.

It's tough for me to like the EVO knowing that it's basically just a hopped up family sedan.
I like the aggressive front end and it's performance, but that's it. Everything else on the car is too cheap for my tastes.

pretty simple choice.
If all you want is an all out performance car without caring what it looks like, get the EVO. I personally chose the Z for its all around package. Performance plus beauty!

I used to like EVO if 4 door is an important factor in buying a fast sedan, but since the last couple of months I switch my mind to M35/45 (Cryslar Hemi 3000 would be second). With the 350Z, I haven't changed my mind since I first drove it , and I will continue driving it.
350zil
I was in the same situation as you, except I was looking at a Sti.
After comparing the two and tallying up the pros and cons of each, they were still deadlocked. I think the pros and cons of getting an EVO vs Z are pretty deadlocked as well.
The deciding factor for me was the styling. I'm not sure how long you plan to keep either car, but I was thinking in 5-10 years the look of the Z will not look as out dated as opposed to the looks of the Evo/Sti. Heck the 240z still looks cool to me!
I also think a Z would be easier to sell in the long run because it has more public appeal than the Evo/Sti.
If you do decide to go with the Z be prepared for everyone to talk down the performance of your car and compare it to sports cars that cost alot more. I've only had my Z for 4 months but it seems like the car enthusiast world in general has something against our cars.
Good luck with your decision.

If I DIDN'T have a Z, I admit, I'd have something against the damn thing too!
This car is seriously overexposed and it really has no real competitor in it's class. It kinda just sits in a category all by itself.
I remember one month, the Z appeared on ALL the car magazines that came to my house including Eurotuner. It even appeared in Men's Health, Rollingstone, and Entertainment Weekly in the advertisement sections for the BF Goodrich tires!
I was sick of seeing the car, It was ridiculous. I'm sure any other car enthusiast would at least develope some kind of subconscious resentment for it, feeling the need to dispel any myths about the car.

Exactly. I have not found another car that is in the same class as the 350Z. The only one that is close is the Mustang GT, but it's cheaper. Every other car that they say is a competitor just isn't in my eyes. Audi TT (3.2 V6), Mitsu Evo 8, Subaru WRX STi, Mazda RX8, etc. I think Nissan has hit the market at exactly the right place with the Z.

I don't like when magazines and people try to make sweeping comparisons due to price ranges and sporting intentions. The 350Z is a two seat sports car, how does anyone compare it to the Evo or STi?
