I love my auto(haven't had any problems with it), but lately I've been thinking about trying stick instead so that I could race it at the PIR track. I'm still contemplating it, but most likely I'll stick with my auto and just get it paid off, and then move out and get my own house finally. I don't want to lose any more money on new cars.

The Nissan auto (at least the '04) is supposedly one of the best.

A friend has a 968 with the Tiptronic. Every time he lifts off the gas, the car upshifts. Not a good thing when you have to get back on the gas to balance the car, and even worse when it downshifts just as the car is getting balanced again!

I think I MAY try stick next time but I would really prefer to wait till I have two cars b/c when I used to drive stick I very much hated it in the morning. I know most people can do it w/o even thinking about it but I am not one of those people. I think it would be less annoying with a fast car like the Z but the one I used awhile ago was SLOW!!!

I have no aspiration to be a drag racer or anything so I am not iching for the stick.

You people thinking of losing your *** off just to trade your Z in for a manual, think of this. Instead of dumping probably close to an extra 6-10k on a new car that is essentially the same car, dump around 5k into a supercharger and the rest of the money on whatever the hell else you want. The 5AT w/ a monster charger is a beast. You will be smoking those fools in the 6MT left and right.
