Default After TOO MUCH TIME I have my NEW Z

Hello, this is Jorg, or Axxizzer as most of you know me. You may or may not know my story, so here goes:

I had a DB 2004 Z that I fully modded. I loved that car, I worshipped that car. I MADE LOVE to that car...well, not quite, but I sure wanted to. When I was fully done with the car, A wealthy Canadian man Gave me lots of money for it. Full price +15K, it was amazing! I then got a Z4, drove it for a few days, but then I had to be shipped away to Sweden for work. Weeks later, I came back and a friend and I installed a full Exhaust, Header, and cat. A few days after that, the gasket started leaking...and so did the Rear Differential...and so did the Radiator hoses. I brought it to BMW to find that they wouldnt warrantee this thing, which was acceptable, but then they said that ALL the problems were caused by the CAT. BULL **** DUDES. A ride with the "tech" (read, douche) it stalled 4 times, the first time, he said it was the SMG getting used to me, and that it was normal. The other 3 he blamed the cat.

In the end BMW effed my Ay, and basically, mugged me and took all my money. Well, its been a few months, and I ache to get out of the Echo I am now driving. I long for the feel of the Z, I NEED IT.

So, today, around 6PM Pacific Time. I went down to the Nissan dealership, found someone and DEMANDED to see a new Z.

In short, NEW 5AT ENTHUSIAST 350Z 2005 LEMANS SUNSET!!!!

Floor Mats
Aluminum Kick plates

Ended up paying 31K even.
Good Deal?
I dont care actually, dont tell me unless its good.

I had Nismo LMGT4s with almost brand new (300mile old) BFGoodrich KDWs
Put them on and came here.

So what do you think?
What should I mod first?
I am so excited I'm gonna throw up, thanks for reading!

Is that what you paid out the door? I can't ever go by list price because of the games the dealers play with their fees . Tell me that and I will tell you how it is comparing to my 5AT Roadster in the same color with the same options + side airbags.

As a former BMW 3 Series and 6 Series owner who got tired of being RAPED by BMW Dealerships and the Mom and Pops.....
$300 for a battery!!!!!!!!!!!!1
I welcome you back to reality.
I have more satisifaction with my 350z than those stupid overpriced German Taxicabs that look like Buicks from the back.
Oh yeah, and the BMW dealership employees are snooty too.
I aint lookin back...welcome back bro.

Yeah BMWs are expensive to maintain. When the warranty is up. Expect to pay a arm and a leg for replacement parts. My Z is cheap to maintain. It uses only 5qts of oil(Mobil 1). I just got a new front OEM bumper installed. Bumper alone was only $200 shipping included. I wonder how much a BMW is? Anyway enjoy your new Z.

Jeez, I hate this damn break in SOO MUCH! I cant do anything!!

I have a plan for this new baby:
Vis Fuzion CF hood
Forged stock comp. pistons
titanium Rods
Full intake and exhaust
JWT cams
Technosquare ECU tune

I am going to try to have it make NA power up to the new Redline. Any clues on how to accomplish this daunting task? Thanks loads people.

i think it's a good idea to drive the car hard at least on occasion during break in. Otherwise you're wearing out the engine in a way to make it used to driving slow

why forged stock comp pistons and titanium rods? for one thing, I don't know of any titanium rods available for the Z - just forged unless someone knows something I don't.

If you're going to be doing major engine work and replacing pistons anyway, then don't worry much about break in. Actually I wouldn't touch your internals unless you're going to do FI. Then in that case get lower compression. But for NA, there's not much benefit to forged internals other than they'll be slightly lighter - not worth the cost for just that alone. If you plan on making ungodly huge amounts of NA power - which is hard to do, no one has really made 400whp NA unless it's a race car, chances are you might want to replace the rods as well and screw getting a ECU flash, get a standalone EMS

If you're going for all out NA, maybe look into something like the stroker kit with 11:1 or 11.5:1 pistons (might depend on what gas you can get) Or wait and see what Jason from Performance Nissan comes up with setting his engine up to rev to 8000 and make power up that high

Otherwise maybe do some head work, cams, valves/springs and bolt ons like headers, cats, exhaust, pulley, throttlebody, plenum, clutch/flywheel, intake, and ECU.

Don't skimp on handling either. You might like doing WOT, but you probably only get to do that a fraction of the time. While with handling mods, you get to use those 100% of the time all the time. That's the issue with the way my car currently is. I have mostly power mods and my car handles like crap so I end up driving almost as if the car was stock because there's too much power to get traction. Though it isn't all that bad of an idea to focus on power and get the ECU tuned and everything first so you don't have to keep getting it retuned everytime you can afford another bolt on. My next major phase of mods is all about handling

Congrats on the new car, but whatever happened to enjoying a car for what it was instead of dumping $3-4k into right after you just got it?
