Default Test drove the Z!

I had to get some new Yokohama AVS ES100's mounted on our 330i today. On the way back I was right by the Nissan dealer so I thought I would stop by to see if I could test drive the 350z. They had a Track model and I took it out for a little spin.

The car is awesome. The handling was very much like the 330i sport I drove over to the dealer. It was very refined and had little body roll. I didnt get to push the car hard, but could tell it was very solid. I cannot believe how much this car feels like a Bimmer. I would love to push it at the track.

The engine/drivetrain is top notch too.. The power is linear and the engine has a nice spread of torque. Even in higher gears it still pulls nicely. The transmission offers real short throws and the shifter clicks in real nicely. No need for a STS here IMO.

Overall, I love this car. I plan on ordering one early next summer. The only thing I dont like is the HUGE blindspots. It would take me a while to get used to it.

I'd say it definitely depends on the dealer - no set practice. I told the dealer that I was ready to order, but that I still hadn't driven one yet. He only had a DB touring and it was in the showroom, but he had some guys open the double doors and drove it right out of the showroom for me to drive.

After only a short drive, I was definitely sold on the car. Ordered Sept. 13 (Friday the 13th) right after we got back!

I think it's a great car. I can get used to the blind spots.

I test drove it at Continental Nissan. They had a few Zs there actually, which suprised me.

Did you Z owners get used to the blind spots?? You REALLY have to use the mirrors and pay close attention to other cars behind you in this car.

Thumbs up Continental is awesome!!!

Continental Nissan is great. I would DEFINITELY recommend this place. They let me drive a silver track when I was putting down a deposit for my Z. I picked it up last Thursday & they were GREAT. Everything went smoooooth. MSRP & not a penny more!

Great place to buy a car.

I deal with the blind spots by trying to drive faster than all the other cars, so I don't need to know what's behind me. Although I must admit that I'm not looking forward to explaining that to the next police officer that I meet.
