Statistcs are based on facts. And I defy you to find any reasonable statistcs that prove his posts incorrect?
Actually studies have shown that at 30% of statistics are incorrect.

Umm, to sway you guys back on topic for a sec......

Why/how does your "former" friend blame you for his accident, werent you in front of him? Does he say that you were braking too hard into the turn? If so, my response would be.."dude, didnt you see the deer!"

Ok, now back off topic...I agree that your driving skill does improve the more experienced you become at driving. This same principle is true in most of what one does consistently in life. Arguing with 18yos however, is often times like talking to a tree so dont sweat it. Many of us guys when we were young bucks had the attitude of not caring what anyone else thought if it differed from our opinions. Its all good, they will learn with age to be more political with their views.

If he isn't your friend anymore, now is the perfect time to ridicule him for sucking at driving. If I were you I would post his phone number and address here so we can make fun of him too.

Reminds me of a guy who dated my sister for a while back in NJ.

This was in 81. He had a nicely built old 68 Camaro. So he's taking me and a friend for a ride one night. It was clear he wanted to impress me and of course I'm eggin him on. "Let's see what this beast can do.. blah blah". So we're on a highway and he tries to nail this turn off. He loses it and goes over a 9" straight curb. Blows all 4 tires, ruins 4 Crager mags and screws his suspension big time. The car is smoking up on a slopping little hill. Me and my bud get out and hitch a ride in 2 minutes. It was a classic moment. I know he wanted to give me grief but I could have cared less anyway.

Hey you want to show off you can't blame the passenger. Know the limits of your ego (and vehicle).

Tacoma is right.
Nice.
I don't have time to type that much and I don't care enough about your opinions to explain it all "politically correct" for you since you were so worried about me being prejudiced against 18 year olds.

When you grow up, we can talk more.

Haha wow, you really are ignorant. What a pitiful excuse. With a statement like that, I could've mistaken you for a.....18 year old...

ok, yes, 18 need more experience, vary's by individuals, and yes, i think this will blow over...

23 is still young, up to almost 30 is young, life, you really only get one chance to live life... and that is exactly what i'm going to do, so since i started this, can we end the young guys vers the old guys on this forum, its just dumb, no one is going to change either opinion, and yes I am only 20 and know that I have more to learn, but know that I have learned more than most 18 year olds...

I respect all of you on here, and well the last page and 1/2 is just flaming against 18 or the otherway around, but I wanted to hear what you though about hte accident, and his parents didnt get him the car, he bought it almost all cash himself

Guess not enough
If you had a feeling that "he was going to try and do something beyond his capabilities", then you are partly to blame for what happened.

You should not have been driving beyond what the limits of HIS car was capable of. He was trying to keep up with you.

No one put a gun to his head and made him try to keep up!! I know there are risks I'm willing and not will to take, even though my friends may take those risks doesn't mean that I have to!! Norcal350, Do you think the outcome would have been different if you where behind him? Of course no one is really going to admit that their driving sucks. I'm not saying that he needed more experience because he is 18 but he needed more with that particular car!! Your age has nothing to do with how you drive.. its your mental maturity that controls your driving!! So, your friend will calm down and see he is being stupid and tell you he is sorry for blaming you... if not you can go on Dr. Phil or Jerry Springer... choose one!!

What I said was fact. Sorry, but to all 18 year olds... you are not good drivers. (flame suit on and ready b/c I'm hiding behind facts)

Now, you may be 'safe' drivers, but that's not the same thing...

Anyway, quit getting defensive because you're young. It's great to be young... but you don't have the seat-time to be a good driver yet.
Completely agreed. I'm turning 18 this Sunday. I mostly try to keep it safe knowing what I'm NOT capable of.
