I'm 21, and i don't consider myself a good driver, and i don't think i am not able to be involved in an accident,
BUT i have driven OVER 100K miles in cars, and close to 60K miles in a big Trailer (don't know what it's called over there, 18 wheeler?)
So i do NOT think that i am a good driver, but since i'm 21, and you have to be 18 to get a licence here, it means that i only have 3 years of road experience, but at least a lot more than the average 21 year old over here, because my work made me drive al those distances.
so in your opinion, does this make me a responsible driver because i have more miles than a regular 21 year old?
I do like to think so...

possibly.... when you consider on average the typical american drives 15-20000 miles a year..... so say you have the equivalent of 4-5 of driving. again, it is all about experiences. every day you come across new and different scenarios in driving... the key is to learn from them. if you made a mistake, change how you reacted (or didn't).
being a good driver though isn't all about skill...... you have to remember the mental aspect of it as well. and while all that defensive driving stuff is annoying, it gets to the point of always keeping you eyes open to what is going on, be prepared to react, and always assume the other cars around you are driven by idiots (which is pretty typical)

Heh if he was following you, asuming hees close behind you and you saw nothing near the side of the road, id never heard of any possum that can "dart" infront of someone,,
if ther was a deer you prolly would have seen it reat the edge and slowed,
sounds to me like he knows he f***'ed up and simply trying to save face with the deer thing.. AND with what he just told you about not beiing you friend is just a testiment to his immaturity in itself!
