I agree. The clutch on my Z is even lighter than my Integra. It is hard to drive it smoothly. I can drive my Integra and shift as smooth as an automatic. With the Z, it takes more coordination and concentration.

The cobra has the heaviest clutch on any car Ive ever driven. I can't imagine driving that through traffic. Loads of power but it takes a lot of effort and input to drive unlike the Z

That's exactly whats happening to me. Pretty frustating and embarasing because the Z has so much presence and when people sees all the jerking and near stalling all they do is laugh. Makes me so mad , but I will get there, is just going to take some more embarasments I guess.
You are probably used to a linkage clutch as well. The Z has a hydraulic clutch which is a lil different from a linkage clutch. But I love my Z hate the clutch it will be gone soon. Dont get me wrong it is fine for most I just dont like it. No problems with it though.

Default That's because 1st gear is TOO LOW!!

I notice that the Z doesn't pull very hard from 1st gear to 2nd gear, what I mean is that the engine accelarate/rpm very fast when you are launching but the car doesn't seem to be moving very fast. I was just wondering if this is just a caracteristic of the " low end torque " on the Z. What we need to do to unleash this beast(No FI Yet).
First gear is (IMHO) too low on the Fairlady. You can hardly get moving! We don't all live in San Francisco! I'd prefer a higher first gear (I'm not a drag racer) and closer-spaced ratios.

It's interesting that 2nd - 5th on the Fairlady are just about the same as the ratios in the Borg-Warner T-10 aluminum-case 4-speed on my 1965 Shelby GT-350 Mustang (now there was a car...): 2.32, 1.69, 1.20, 1:00.
