Default Underbody damage

When I enter my underground garage parking lot it scrapes something on the bottom, I can minimize it by entering at an angle...I have taken it to nissan and they looked at the bottom and saw nothing of concern, is this okay or should I do something like raising my car or something....will 19" tires fix this, I am running on 17" right now.

I really don't trust the dealers sometimes. Lift the car up and check it yourself. Go at an angle when entering your garage.

I did the same too. Didn't have a chnce to see what got scraped yet. Going to 19 is not gonna change the ride height if you go +2, by staying at the same diameter.

I'd start mixing up some cement! LOL

New rims won't do anything unless you get larger rims and larger tires.

Funny you mention that, I actually thought about getting some cement and flattening out the peak but as that is the only enterance to the garage I would be inconviencing alot of ppl to fix it and to top it off my car is the only one that scrapes!!

I guess the rims and tires won't do anything....anyway still looking for a solution...can i raise the car by an 1"?

Depending on the size configuration of the rims and tires, you probably won't raise it as much as you like.

If your at stock height, I don't think you want to raise the car more. It'll hurt performance and just look bad. I would recommend either the concrete fill method or maybe get some pieces of wood (i.e. 2x4's) to get you in and out w/o an issue. It might be a PITA, but it gives you piece of mind if you don't scrape.

Where is it scraping? There are 3 "splash guards" under the front of the car that are made of plastic. One in front of each front wheel and then a big center piece that basically goes from the front bumper all the way back to under the engine. On my car that center piece lost a screw and it scrapped on speed bumps really bad. I just removed the whole piece for now and it was really scuffed up.

If Nissan saw those scuffs then they would definitely tell you everything was OK.

See anything hanging under the car?

The front of the car is NOT scraping, its the mid-section on the passenger side when I enter at an angle...its definitley metal against cement sound....not plastic...I need to get it up on a lift and see what I am doing...

you dont scrape anything worth worrying about...

My Personal Car is as low as it goes and I have scraped some things so bad where my car is literally lifted up from the speed bumps...

So dont worry

So occasionally scraping the connecting piece between your cats and exhaust is nothing to worry about? Or should I raise my car up?
