Default Gas tank wont fill up

For about the past 3 months I have not been able to fill up my gas tank. Even when the pump stops and wont pump anymore the gauge only shows that it is mid way between full and 3/4 tank. And the problem is not just with the gauge, becuase even when DTE is at zero and I try to fill up, I only get between 13-15 gallons. I know there is a 3 gallon reserve so I would expect to be able to put in 17 gallons when DTE is at zero. Anyone else have a similar problems or ideas about it. I have tried going to different gas stations, same thing.
Thanks

I read some people have had the dealer change the tank. It seems there is a flap inside it to keep gas from backing up and this flap gets stuck or something. Weird if you ask me, but... Mine fills up at about 1/2 way between 3/4 tank and F... And most I can get in there is 13.5 Gs no matter how much I wait (DTE down to 9 miles)... I thought it might be the gauge.

do a search, there is a long post about that very topic. Some people had the problem and then went away, others needed a new tank. I suggest reading the thread.

Try different pumps, try different gas stations, try different pump angles, try working the pump handle up to 3/4 of the way and hold it there. I have had difficulties before, but nothing I couldn't find a simple solution to. The best thing is moving the pump to a different angle and going slowly.
