Default Flutter noise at shut off

I have an 04 6sp touring with 10k on it. When i turn my car off it makes a flutter noise kind of like the pullys are sticking or the bearings are bad. Ill try to get a better descrption. Does anyone know what this is? This brings me to my second question. Do i have to bring the car to get serviced at the dealer i bought it from or can i bring it to any dealer? Because im not too big a fan of the dealer i bought it from for services issues.

I have the same flutter noise. I've come to the conclusion that its a normal sound coming from the flywheel or somethin...

disengage your clutch (push it to the floor) and then turn off your car and see if it still makes the noise.

If you put your car in neutral and let out the clutch and turn off the engine, if you hear a sound coming from the transmission that sounds like marbles rolling around in there - then that's "normal". As bknezevic pointed out, if you repeat the process but keep the clutch pushed in, you won't hear the noise.

It happens to a lot if not all manual transmissions. We even checked some brand new ones on the dealer's lot to verify.
