buy a brand new Z in the color you want and mod it from there? Or, buy a used '03 350Z in a color that you don't want, the color isn't a color you hate, but isn't the color you would pick if you had the choice, and it has a turbo kit on it, what would you choose?

Heh, yeah. I found out something about it though, I won't get it unless this certain thing is changed.
Other than that, it's looking like that Z...I wonder why no one suggests buying the used car?

It really depends on a lot of factors. First and foremost is money. If you have the money to buy a brand new car and mod it, obviously that is the best route because you will get the color, options, and mods exactly how you want it. On the other hand, you could buy the used car, add the mods you need, and finish with a LOT more money. But, as I'm sure you already know, you have to look over a used car like that veeeeeeery thoroughly. Make sure the mods are done well and all, and have a mechanic check it out to see if the guy beat on his car. Most people don't mod cars to 380 hp and not drive them hard. So basically, if you've got the money, the new car is the best route, but if I were in your shoes I would save the money and go with the used one.
Good luck man, it'll be a pleasure to see your Z when it's done

bigmoe, I see your point. I would be able to accomplish the goal with either car...it would just be alot faster to accomplish it and alot cheaper with the used car. Plus, blue wouldn't attract cops as much as red. Hmmm, i'm hoping indecis can get back to me tomorrow.

Yeah, that would probably be last on my list though. However, I could sell some of the mods that I don't like and use the money to buy what I really want...hmm, I REALLY hope indecis can get back to me.
it would depend on what kind of kit the track-turbo one had, like what kind of turbo, how much is he boosting, etc....you need to know if the current setup is capable of 500+whp and the only thing you needed was to rebuild the motor. I honestly don't think you can run 500whp reliably on the stock motor. Btw, i think daytona blue is a great color and you can't go wrong with a track (brembos, suspension) model. If you were to upgrade from an enthusiast, it would run at least 4k for the brakes and another 2k for suspension. Then again, the 03 models had tranny issues as well as feathering. Either way this is going to be a financial black hole...it's never cheap to go to the dark side.
