while on the gas tank issue. When i had a S2000 i took took the cover of the air box off and got an extra 30 miles to a tank. Has anyone notice mileage boost sense upgrading to Cold air intake or any other type of air intake mods?

I also think it's convenient to have that much gas in the Z. It keeps me from having to refill often. I hate gas-stations.

I got 27.2 mpg with an average speed of 74 mph over 350 miles, had I kept going, I could have gone 544 miles, as it was, I drove for a few more regular work days before getting gas at 437 miles.

Its actually cheaper to have a larger gas tank also. Sure it comes with the benefits of balancing the car and letting you drive farther, but it reallt is cheaper. Say you always run your car at a half tank and get 15 miles per gallon (we'll assume you might be having fun ) That's about 10 gallons so 150 miles on that half gallon; then you put another half tank in after those miles. Now let's say that the frist time you filled up half the tank the price of gas was 2.25/gallon, that would be 22.50 for the half tank. Now what if next time you fill up half way gas is 2.35/gallon. The next half tank would cost 23.50. Now I know that this is only a dollar in saving for an entire tank of gas, but if this was the case everytime you filled up, it has the potential to add up over the life of the car. Now, having said all this, I understand that most people that can afford the car, can easily afford the fill-ups (maybe not everyone, for example, all of those who say "if you earn it, you deserve it" no offense fucha ) I guess I just said all this to try and prove a point, no matter how real (unreal?) that point may be. Or I might just be a post-*****

i'm close with 19.6 gallons, but i did run out completely, and put a gallon of gas in the car (gas container), and later pumped 18.6. Does that count?

Next time, pay attention to the # of gallons on the gas pump instead of the price. Say your meter is at 1/4. Thats about 5 gallons left so you should be pumping in about 15 gallons to fill it up.
1-2 miles? Do you mean 1-2 gallons = 20-40 miles?

Also, the weight issue is tricky. Obviously with a 20 gallon tank it's going to weigh quite a bit more when it's full than when it's empty. I'd think that the weight difference in the 2 scenarios would provide for a interesting engineering problem.

Yeah I meant 1-2 gallons, thanks for picking that up. That would suck if it was 1-2 miles.

There must be something wrong with y my Z

I can only pump like 15-16 gallons on empty, I've even tried to put more but it literrally overfills and comes out and spills onto the car. And there is no way I can get to 400 miles per tank. I usuually get 300.

And like it says in the posts above, most read empty, "0" miles to go, with 5 gallons in the car, yours is normal.

not mine, although it is an '05 that might explain why its different for me, maybe they decided to be literal about it

forgot to quote "5 gallons to go when it reads 0"
