Default Does the Z have stainless steel hubs?

I've notice a look of cars like the ecilipse have the rusted hubs. If not, what can you do about it.

No they are not stainless, and yes, they can get rust on them. There have been ather posts regarding this with pictures of rust already. Choices: aftermarket rotors with aluminum hubs, or thouroughly clean and paint the hub with high temp ceramic paint.

Would that work? I didn't think you could do that as the hub/rotor is a single piece.

powdercoating can be masked with thermal tape. I powder coated the landing gear on my plane but had to keep the bearing surfaces bare metal. They used thermal tape and it worked great.

Not sure on anodizing though..... you'd have to check on that.

Anodizing can be done just to the hub through a process called "brush anodizing" used in the aerospace industry. Having said that, your most efficient solution is still to paint the hub with VHT paint - $5.50 a can! Anodizing and powdercoating will run you at least one order of magnitude more in terms of cost.

You can use that to help clean. Heck, you can use throttlebody cleaner. =) I would recommend simple green and steel wool, dry, then use some sand paper on the rest. Tape it off, and over the bolts and spray away. It's easy. MAKE SURE that when you do the calipers(for those non-brembo people) to really tape off around the pads. If you aren't careful you can leave a mess of paint that builds up on the edge of the pads causing some vibration.(happened to me.. blah)

Mine hasn't been out in the rain yet (It's been sunny for over a week and a half since I got my Z ) and it's garaged. I'm still babing it.

But all of this is good information to know.

It won't show up as bad with the 7 spoke autos (I hope).

I put new rims on my integra... get this, it was cheaper to get these rims and tires than to just get new tires. Sounds like they are crappy rims but they don't look that bad, and are 4lbs less per rim. I'll take pics some day. Anyhow, the hubs are nasty and really show up... but I'm too lazy to go paint them(probably cause I want to spend as little as possible on that car over the next 7 months).

Are you going to paint them? (go black)

Prolly not. I want to see how others look and act first. Plus, I'm pretty lazy myself.
