Default need a flywheel!

I bought a used 350Z with an aluminum flywheel and my transmission just went out. The dealer says that the flywheel is scortched and needs to be swapped out before fixing the transmission. He said that the aftermarket flywheel doesn't have a dampner on it which is probably what gave my tranny problems. Any inputs on this??? Also, if any one has a factory flywheel they're trying to get off their hands drop me a line. 478-213-0903

Thanks, Lee

I can get you a factory fly wheel for 20% off list. I dont know how much it would cost to ship from massachusetts though. Send me a email from www.simplexproductions.com. There is a link for an order form there and I will get you prices and shipping quotes if you want them. Let me know.

I've never driven a Z without the aftermarket flywheel. am I going to notice a huge difference if I go back to the stock one?

If you are going to be buying a flywheel anyway, get the JWT flywheel/clutch setup and have them install that one (if they will do it). The JWT is lighter than stock and still very streetable. Stay away from tilton (not as streetable) and NISMO (terribly over priced).

I had the "Stealer", er dealer try the same thing with me. I finally contacted Nissan North America and got a resolve that I was happy with. Nissan covered all labor and parts for my tranny and clutch. They paid half of the Nismo flywheel and all labor. So, I got a new tranny, clutch and Nismo flywheel for abot $250.

It's likely the faulty tranny caused the fly to become scorched.. Have them replace at no cost to you.. I vote for the JWT fly/ clutch combo..Agree to pay for the clutch but not the labor..
