went to the track
My first time ever at a track... I made a laughingstock out of myself. First run, 16.2, Second run 18.1, Last run 14.8. The first two runs I turned VDC off and I did nothing but spin my tires with no traction. The last run I wised up and turned VDC on and I guess it was a respectable time. 14.8 @ 98.9 MPH.
I guess my last run is worth mentioning:
Reaction - .639
60FT - 2.544
660FT - 9.870
MPH 660 - 76.671
ET - 14.892
MPH - 98.952

18.1 is pretty bad you must of done a huge burnout to get an 18.1. Id figure with a bad take off maybe the time would be off by 2 seconds the most, but it happens to all of us, everybody has a bad take off once in a while. Work on it some more and you should get it into the low 14s.

themyst,
You should be able to do a lot better, even with VDC off. Here's what I do. Don't rev and dump the clutch, instead, briskly launch on the second yellow light. An analogy to this is when you want to get to the next lane at a stop light before the guy next to you blocks you. Brisk take off, but no tire burning start. Get it?
Anyway, by the time the car reacts and start moving, the green light would have already reached, and you'll obtain a .500-.524 R/T. With this technique, you'll also be able to achieve a 60Ft time of 2.2+ on stock tire/psi. When the light is by your fender, apply full throttle.
