I already bought mine (see sig), but haven't driven with it yet since I havent gotten my car. From what I have read here and heard from friends, the ride doesnt change too much. As long as you buy tires with a strong side wall, your cornering abilities should increase due to the larger contact patch. I'm running 245/35/19f and 275/35/19r. My wheel sizes are 19x8.5f and 19.9.5r, but many here are running 9.5f and 10.5r for a deep dish look.

My wheel offsets are +27f and +24r.

Additional mods please see sig.

hope this answers your question.

Also you posted in the wrong forum...go to wheels/tires/suspension and you should find a lot more info.

ride will suffer due to the shorter sidewalls. if the total weight of the wheel and rim is more than stock, you'll increase unsprung weight and your ride will suffer even more.

Compared to stock, you will be jolted a tad bit more . . . see sig. BTW, I run 285/35 on the rear.

I was debating the same thing. I ended up going from stock 17's to the 19's in my sig. below. The fact that the RoJa's I got used off of ebay are high quality, light weight 2pc. forged wheels and the tires were almost new...I couldn't pass up the deal.

Here are my observations since going to the 19's:

Ride is a tad stiffer.
Handling seems better than the stock 17's.
Looks 10x's better than the stock 17's.

Now the front tires are the standard 245/35's, but the rears are a kinda odd size @ 255/40. I don't know why the guy used this size rear tire but it actually looks really good. Kinda evens out the stance of the z.

I personally think that a good, light weight 19 is the perfect wheel on the z.

Let's face it, most of us don't track our cars enough to justify that a smaller size will perform better on the 1320 . . . I love the 19s and I just wish that more tire companies would produce a 295 for us 10.5" rear owners. My 285s are stretched over the rim and exposes the outer edges (prone to curbing if you're not careful) . . . but, perhaps its the tire manufacturer. I've seen some 275s on 10.5" rear that looked about the same.

+1 on more tire choices. I think(hope) we'll see more and more 18",19", & 20" tire options since more and more cars are coming with these sizes oe and people are going with +1 & +2 wheel/tire packages.

I know what you mean about a stretched tire...my 255/40's are stretched to the max to fit on the 10" rear wheels. I kinda like the stretched look though...it sorta looks like the older Porche 911 rear wheels/tires. But you right about them being prone to curb damage.
