Default Cai Problem?!

ok so it has been raining here often (FL). every time i drive the Z when it rains, it runs poorly. i have a AEM knockoff CAI with the AEM bypass valve. according to everything i have read and heard, with the bypass valve it shouldn't matter even if i were to totally suberge the filter. i have even been careful not to drive through any standing water. no matter, it still idles badly and sputters a bit. i guess i am going to change it out for a popcharger and polished intake tube. any comments would be a great help and much appreciated!

Best of luck with whatever you decide to do. I wouldn't get an CAI, just for that very reason (also in FL).

I've heard that the performance aspect of the popcharger is similar to that of the CAI.

I posted a link in the other thread answering your question.

Good luck!!

Clueless on that one man. Try going to autozone or somewhere and pulling the code?

Any link for what you are referring to??

Probably hooking up the car's computer and getting the code would be the best thing to do. Just in case it might be something else.

Good lord, that's a long process. It's probably takes like 10 trials until you get it right on.

Every ECU reset I've ever done involves disconnecting the battery, reconnecting and idling for 10-15 minutes.

That may just work wacked out CEL's *shrugs shoulders*

hey all, just so you know i unplugged the battery for about 3 hours and put back on and let the car idle for about 10 minutes. everything is basically back to normal, guess i may have sucked some water into the filter!
