Gwinnett place nissan sent my car to an outside repair shop without telling me when I needed my seat upholstery fixed. Even though I signed a GPN repair ticket, when the independant shop owner wrecked my car, GPN told me it wasn't their problem and washed their hands of the whole deal.

Gwinnett place nissan is where I bought my car end of last year. Their sales people are great. Service people will do anything to make you happy but i have to say they weren't that competent. IF you go to gwinnett, go to Scott Kidd. He was a great sales guy. They hooked me up with my VPP

Default Ding Dong, the trU*k is gone...$$$

....now Z hunt begins in earnest...

Half a dozen or more Atlanta-area dealers to choose from, I will
report my experiences here in the forum...

I think a "rule-of-thumb" might be:

If quoted OTD price is under MSRP for any particular Z car, then keep talking.
If OTD price is over MSRP, start walking out.

Thankz for all the info!

Default Too wired to sleep.....

....its just downstairs in the garage, but I keep going down to see if it is
still there....Pikes Peak White 05 Enthusiast 6MT....pinch me!

Pulled inventory from Nissanusa site for two weeks, all ATL dealers

Called 7 of them....Union City, Regal, GPN, Peachtree, Team Marietta,
Town Center, and Stone Mtn..... not in any particular order

Visited 4 of them:

Stone Mountain, to test-drive a base model (had no Enthusiasts)

Peachtree, to see "redline" in real life, ok but it had been sitting by
the busy road for months

Regal, to show my wife a SS Enthus.... called to arrange a visit to
see a specific car that I would have bought at a good price...
called Monday to confirm Tuesday visit, drove 42 miles to find
that they had sold that car on the previous Sat...without telling
me on Monday! We walked out on them after being there
maybe 3 minutes...

Gwinnett Place, to test-drive the Z we eventually bought from
them that same day. Our experience there was better than we
would have ever expected. Everyone we dealt with there had
a great attitude, took plenty of time with us (in the middle of
their used car inventory), and gave us a great deal on the Z
we wanted. They also had the largest inventory of Z's by far.

Now to sleep if I can.....

Hey, looks exactly like mine! LOL

Congrats, you're going to love it. What did you end up getting it for out the door?

Can you believe I contacted GPN this morning to get a price on trading my 2 month old Z w/2200 miles for a Chrome Silver Z Roadster enthusiast. I'd only do it IF they can give me a great deal. I don't know if its hanging around this forum that has me wanting the ZR because I really think they're ugly with the top up.

i was going to chime in and say to go by gpn but it seems i am a little late. i bought my 03.5 from them about 3 monthes ago and was very impressed. the only problem i had was they only had one key to it and i had to go back to get another. when i walked in to get my 2nd key, my salesman wasn't with the company anymore and it was only like 3 days later........but teh used sales manager got me a key cut and programmed with out any hesitation. two weeks after i bought the z my left window wouldn't roll up one day after lunch so i went over (i work down the road @gwinnett place dodge) dropped the car off and it was done when i got off that afternoon. i was really impressed because my warranty was out by 150 miles and they took it in and fixed it right the first time. congrats on the new adiction!!!!!!

gpn gets a thumbs up from me!!!

who was your finance guy?????? was he a short pudgy little guy pushing the extended warranty out the ***??????? he annoyed the crap out of me and the fiance. "this car will need belt and hoses in about 6000 miles and that will cost you about $800.our shop rate is $95/hour so it will be expensive everytime you bring this car in. blah blah blah"......i asked him if this was nissan's flagship sports car or a piece of crap by the way he was describing it. he wouldn't take no for an answer until he noticed on the credit aplication i am a technician.

Clark Howard (Atlanta consumer advisor) says that the finance managers usually get 50% of the profit. If they try to sell you a Silver Plus policy for 1800, their cost is probably 400. So the finance guy makes 700. Its definitely a scam. You can purchase these warranties through Nissan up until the car has 35000 miles or 35 months. If you have a lot of problems with the car, you might want to get it at that time. Only downside is you can't finance it in the car.

It looks like yours because you have good taste

I literally could not sleep the first night we had it, just too exciting....
It is every bit as good a car as I expected, with some pleasant
surprises too...like the automatic AC (never had one before) is the
coldest I can remember....and the way the rear strut cover is reflected
onto the rear window glass so it can be seen in the rearview mirror!

Re the ZR, I think they are ugly top-up too...they are OK top-down...
I would'nt want to drive any roadster in the metro area though, too much
environmental noise, heat, and bad air.....

Anyone wanting GPN info can email/pm me...don't want to post
$$ details in the forum, just to have someone tell me "you was robbed".
I made the deal I realistically expected to make at GPN...a "deal" to me
means both parties get most of what they want...if it is too one-sided
then it is a "steal" not a "deal".

Now, where is my car key........

I never buy extended warranty on anything, even cars/trucks...
If Nissan built it well enough to last through the factory warranty,
then I will take the risk after that, if I keep the car longer.
Any "problems" with the car beyond normal wear/tear then I would
sell it instead of putting $$ into it. I only put maybe 10K miles a year on any vehicle anyway...

Re finance department:
Make sure your credit is perfect, know your score ahead of time...
Do not let any credit card balances go beyond 50% of their limit...
No late payments, even if you have to eat p/b sandwiches...
Stay focused on the paperwork, let them talk, keep saying "no thanks"
until they give up...
Don't sweat the interest rate if below 8%...each 1% drop in rate only
saves $9 per month on 20K 60/mon loan...

Nothing to add. Just to concur with the consensus, I bought at Team Marietta Nissan and have been back for service. A great outfit. I will definitly do business there again.
Like BigMike said, Regal sucks. Biggest bunch of turds on the planet. Avoid, avoid.

I ended up getting 4.54%. Don't let the finance manager try to tell you he can give you a better rate if you buy a service contract. He can do it regardless. I usually get a loan approved by Capital One Auto Finance and have the check with me. I tell them they have to beat their rate or I'll just use their check. The finance manager also gets a cut on every loan they write.
