Default Noise when shifting at high RPM???

My Z now has 2500 miles, and I've finally given it a little exercise. I've noticed that when I depress the clutch above 5K-rpm, there's a brief period where it sounds as if the gears are buzzing/clashing. At first I thoght I was holding on the gas too long, but even when I completely take my foot off the gas, before depressing the clutch, I hear this noise. Is there something wrong with my tranny, or are all cars like this? This happened with my 88 camry, but I expected a sports car transmission would handle high RPMs more greacefully. Any ideas?

I hear something but to me it seems more like the engine reving at those high RPM's without a load on the engine for about a second then the RPM's come down.

Mine doesn't do that, so it doesn't sound normal. Sorry, man; maybe you have tranny problems like some others?
